While they were riding back in the limo, Tristan was the first one to be dropped off, and Rosalie slept the entire way to her house. August didn't want to wake her, so he decided to carry her inside. He gently lifted her in a bridal style and bid Angelina goodnight. Carefully, he unlocked Rosalie's door and closed it using his foot. He climbed up the stairs to her bedroom, placing her purse down. With utmost care, he laid her on her bed and removed her heels.
Since they weren't in a relationship and he didn't have her consent to help her change, he simply tucked her under the covers and kissed her forehead. Just as he was about to leave her room, he felt a tug on his hand. Turning around, he saw that Rosalie was half awake.
"Can you stay?" she pleaded, pouting her lips.
August stood there, silently contemplating whether or not to stay. However, seeing the pleading look on her face, he couldn't resist and agreed.
"Sure, shortcake, I'll stay," he said. "But why don't you change into something more comfortable?"
"Good idea. Can you get me my sweatpants and a shirt? They're in the second drawer," Rosalie asked.
August walked over to her dresser and retrieved the requested clothes. Rosalie took them and headed towards the bathroom to change but struggled with her zipper.
"Hey, August, can you help unzip me?" Rosalie called out.
August walked over to the bathroom connected to her room and opened the door. Rosalie had her hair pushed over her left shoulder, waiting for him to help her. Carefully, he unzipped her dress, making sure not to let it fall completely. Rosalie expressed her gratitude, and August walked away, taking a seat in her desk chair while he waited.
When Rosalie emerged from the bathroom, she was in her pajamas with a fresh face, holding her dress in her hands. August stood up and took the dress from her, hanging it up properly. Meanwhile, Rosalie flopped onto her bed, ready for sleep to overtake her. As August returned to the chair, she looked at him, puzzled.
"August, what are you doing?" she asked, studying him.
"I'm just waiting for you to fall asleep so I can leave," he replied.
"Come and lay with me," she whined.
Rosalie handed him some of her dad's old clothes, and he changed into them before climbing into bed beside her. She rested her head on his chest and listened to his steady heartbeat, eventually drifting off to sleep. August wrapped his arms around her waist and planted a kiss on her hair before succumbing to sleep himself.
The next morning, as the sun began to peek through the curtains, Rosalie slowly started to wake up. She stretched her limbs and yawned, immediately realizing that the other side of her bed was empty. Confused, she glanced around the room, trying to remember what had happened the night before.
Then, she remembered August carrying her into her house and tucking her into bed. A warm feeling spread through her as she recalled his gentle care and the way he had kissed her forehead. It made her heart flutter.
Curiosity piqued, Rosalie slipped out of bed and made her way downstairs, following the delicious aroma of breakfast. As she descended, she found August in the kitchen, donning an apron and humming a tune while flipping pancakes on the stove.
August turned around, a smile spreading across his face when he saw Rosalie standing there.
"Good morning, sleepyhead," he greeted, setting down the spatula. "I hope you're hungry."
Rosalie couldn't help but be touched by his gesture. It was such a sweet and unexpected gesture for him to cook breakfast for her. She walked towards him, a soft smile playing on her lips.
"Good morning," she replied. "And yes, I'm starving."
August motioned for her to take a seat at the island table while he finished up the pancakes. As he plated the delicious breakfast, he couldn't help but steal glances at Rosalie. There was something about seeing her in her pajamas, her hair tousled and her face fresh, that made her even more captivating to him.
They ate their breakfast in comfortable silence, enjoying each other's company. Every now and then, August would catch Rosalie stealing a shy glance in his direction, and it only made his heart race faster.
Once they finished eating, August cleared the table and washed the dishes while Rosalie leaned against the counter, watching him with admiration.
"You didn't have to do all of this," Rosalie said softly. "But thank you. It means a lot to me."
August turned off the faucet and dried his hands before stepping closer to Rosalie. He looked into her eyes, his expression filled with sincerity.
"I wanted to do something for you," he replied. "You deserve to be taken care of, even if we're not in a relationship."
Rosalie felt her cheeks warm at his words. It was true – they weren't officially together, but there was something special between them, a connection that they couldn't deny.
"Thank you, August," she whispered, her voice filled with emotion. "You always know how to make me feel special."
He reached out and gently brushed a lock of hair behind her ear, his touch sending shivers down her spine.
"You are special, Rosalie," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "And I hope that one day, you'll let me show you just how much you mean to me."
Rosalie's heart skipped a beat. She looked into his eyes, seeing the sincerity and genuine affection reflected in them. At that moment, she knew that there was something more between them, something that they couldn't ignore.
With a shy smile, she reached out and took his hand, intertwining their fingers.
"One day, August," she murmured. "But for now, let's enjoy this beautiful day."
August smiled and squeezed her hand, feeling a surge of happiness and hope.
"Absolutely," he replied, his voice filled with excitement. "Let's make the most of today."
They spent the rest of the morning enjoying each other's company, talking and laughing as if they had known each other for a lifetime. It felt effortless and natural as if they were two puzzle pieces finally fitting together.
As the day progressed, they embarked on an impromptu adventure, exploring the city and creating memories that would last a lifetime. They walked hand in hand down bustling streets, indulging in street food and discovering hidden gems in the city. Rosalie couldn't help but notice the way August's eyes sparkled with joy, and how his laughter echoed through the streets.
As they sat on a park bench, watching the sunset paint the sky in hues of pink and orange, Rosalie couldn't contain her feelings any longer.
"August," she started, her voice filled with a mixture of nerves and excitement. "I want to take a leap. I want to see where this connection between us leads."
August turned towards her, his gaze earnest and filled with hope.
"Rosalie, I've wanted that too," he confessed. "I've never felt this way before, and I can't ignore the pull I feel towards you. Let's take that leap together."
Their lips met in a soft and tender kiss, sealing their unspoken agreement to explore the depths of their connection. Their journey as a couple finally began. And as they continued to chase the sunset, hand in hand, they knew that their love story was just beginning and that they were destined to create a future filled with joy, passion, and a love that would endure the test of time.
