Liam sat awake at night, Bryce sound asleep on the bed that was next to him. Thinking back to his life, what he had lost, who he had lost, ate away at him the more time he spent away from it all. There was absolutely no way he could go back and restart his life so easily, maybe bunking with Bryce wasn't a bad idea, but the fact he was leaving so much behind hurt him. Tears claw at his eyes, threatening to spill, and they do. He couldn't help but sob. Quietly, but audibly. Liam rolls over to his side and puts his hands up to his face, hiding in embarrassment. His sobs become harder to contain, he chokes on his saliva and sobs louder.
Bryce woke up from this, rolling over to see what the noise was, "Liam..? Is that you?" The sound of his voice caused Liam to become completely silent. He heard him? "I know it was, are you okay?" The soda bottle sits up fully on the edge of the bed, sliding himself down so that he's leaning against it. Liam, still on his side, pretended to sleep, but Bryce absolutely knew that the sound was him. Nudge. Nothing. "Liam, c'mon. You know im here for you," the man puts a hand on his shoulder and rubs it comfortingly, reassuring Liam that he wasn't shaming him. The green backpack turns, now looking at the ceiling. They lock eyes and Bryce frowns upon looking at the others wet eyelashes. Bryce, although caring, was the absolute worst at comforting. Words were not his forte. The green backpack lays there in embarrassment as Bryce just stares. Creepily, he reaches a hand out as if to tell Liam to sit up, and he does. Bryce beckons Liam to sit beside him, and the two sit there leaning on the bed frame. Silence fills the room, occasionally broken by Liams light sniffles. What are they to do?
After a moment, Bryce speaks, "What's the matter?" his voice is low and quiet, though not a whisper. "I miss my life. I want it to go back to how it was." Liam exhales, not even wanting to think about it. Everything is gone. His life and anything he got good in this world is gone. Ripped away. Stolen. Forgotten. "You've got me. We can take time and work together to get you back on your feet," he smiles and looks away, continuing, "You can stay with me for as long as you like, i don't mind your company. Could be worse." he laughs, looking over to Liam. Upon their eyes locking once again, his sad, chapped lips curl into a smile. Things definitely could be worse. Bryce's generosity wasn't expected, but Liam was so grateful. Sliding sideways, Liam leans on Bryce carefully, "Thanks, I'm glad i can count on you." The two share a glance and they smile again. Tears are wiped from Liams face as he breaths steadily, thinking of the positives. He's got Bryce, a place to stay, a roommate that provides. At least he doesn't have no one to help or guide him back into his life. He stays there leaning on the bottle of soda as Bryce puts an arm around him. Soon, ONE won't be on his mind.
