You can give your all to someone and it can still not be enough. You become cold hearted and unlovable. But it takes one person to realize your worth and change your whole mindset. You become lovable and you are able to trust people again. All it ta...
It's the day of the wedding and the sun was shining brightly through the windows as I got my makeup done. I heard the door open and the sound of multiple voices.
"Hi baby! You look so beautiful." My mom said as she smiled ear to ear.
"Thanks mommy. Did you find my necklace?" She nodded her head and my brother put the necklace on me. "It's so beautiful. This will really make the look come together."
Everyone nodded in agreement and my brother left the room. Steph asked him to be his best man and honestly he has been doing such a great job from what i've heard. My maid of honor is my mom and I only have three bridesmaids; Breeny, Karen, and Jamiya. These ladies have been so supportive and kind and I am just truly grateful for them.
Once the makeup artist finished, It was time to style my hair. All the ladies laughed and talked as we were getting ready for my wedding. I couldn't believe the time was here. Someone knocked at the door and they entered. It was Neeki and he had a huge bouquet of flowers.

"Neekiiiii, you bought these for me?" I said excitedly.
"Umm no. These were dropped off for you." I raised an eyebrow and he sat them down. The hairstylist finished my hair and my mom helped me get into my dress. When I showed everyone the final look, I could see tears forming into everyone's eyes.
"Oh my gosh stop. Y'all are going to make me cry!" I said as I fanned away tears in my eyes. Everyone told me how beautiful I looked and they hugged me. We all stood in a circle and we prayed together. After we prayed, they all left the room and gave me time to myself.
I admired myself in the mirror and smiled. As I examined myself, I saw the flowers in the reflection and I went over to them. They were so beautiful. I sat beside them and sat the flowers on my lap. I smiled and touched each one. As I admired each flower, I came across a notecard. I grabbed it and saw that the front said 'Lo', I immediately knew who it was. I opened it and a smile slowly formed.
Dear Lo, congratulations on your wedding day and for finding someone who is going to love you and treat you right. I know you look drop dead gorgeous and I'm sad I wasn't invited but I respect that decision. If Slim was here, he'd sneak my ass in there, lol. Slim meant a lot to me and you meant a lot to Slim, so you forever taken care of Lo. He'd kill me if I didn't. I love you and enjoy your day.
Keenon
A tear rolled down my eyes and I quickly grabbed a napkin to dab my face and eyes. Not having Slim here really breaks my heart. He was my big brother. He was my friend. As I put the note back in its card, I thought back to the last time that I saw Slim. How we were laughing about how Keenon messed up my lip. Laughing about us growing old and still talking shit. Reminiscing on our friendship and how it was more than just a friendship, we were family. I cooked and we played games and everything, he even talked to Steph that day. And three weeks later he was gone. Just like that. It was honestly the worst day of my life. Seeing his lifeless body and knowing that was it...there wasn't going to be anymore laughter...anymore petty fights...it was the end I never thought would happen so soon.
