── THE COLD BREEZE wafted through the open window, Sophia what her eyes lowered as her father coward over them. Ms Beaulieu had a tissue pressed against her mouth, resting her head in her hand. She sniffled a few times shaking her head.

"Why you?!" Ms Beaulieu began to weep pressing the tissue away from her lips. "Why can't he find a nice girl his own age?"

Priscilla sat bone straight and her eyebrows drawn upwards. The stiffness in the air sent an uneasy wave through Sophia's already anxious mind. Her heart was racing, praying that her parents would say no to the whole visiting Elvis thing.

Mr Beaulieu cleared his throat and shook his head, "I'm not sure about this Priscilla. I mean what's in it for him?"

"Nothing dad! He's just lonely and quite frankly so am I."

Sophia kept her eyes lowered and sighed loudly. She could not think of anything worse than going to Memphis let alone staying with Elvis.

"Please dad. He needs me."

Mr beaulieu shook his head again, putting his hand behind his back while he kept pacing. Sophia stayed silent as usual, she could feel her mothers gaze shifting to her curiously.

"Sophia, what do you think about this?" Mr beaulieu noticed the older girls silence.

She lifted her eyes to meet her fathers worried one's.

"I don't know." She shrugged shifting to look a Priscilla's eager stare, "I mean Vernon's nice."

Mr beaulieu shoved his hands in his pockets and shook his head. "What about Elvis?

"He's okay I guess." Sophia felt Priscilla's tension rolling off of her.

"I don't know girls, this is a lot to think about..." Mr Beaulieu shared, "If you do go, I have one rule."

Priscilla held her breath hoping for good news while Sophia held her breath hoping for the bad news.

"The only way I'm letting you go, Priscilla, is if Sophia goes with you."

Sophia's mouth hung open in shock, not the answer she was excepting. "Why me?!" She interrupted with wide eyes.

"Well you're older, I want you to chaperone your sister." He nodded in approval.

Priscilla had a huge grin on her face as she looked over at Sophia, "please phia."

Sophia informed her sisters begs and kept her focus on her father. "Why me though. Why can't you or mom go?"
