EPISODE EIGHT

— Y/N POV —

"I'm breaking up with you" Cherry says "What?" Bob asks "You're breaking up with me for that grease?" Bob yells slightly "Maybe I am!" She yells grabbing Ponyboy's arm and leading him to her car me and Johnny follow behind. We get into her car and she starts it up "Cherry!" Bob yells "Cherry!" he yells again when we drive off he picks up his bottle and throws it at the car. We drive until we reach somewhere dark "What the hell just happened?" Johnny asks "I don't know but I'm glad I did that" Cherry says sighing "Really?" I ask looking at her "Yeah" she says looking back at me "But I thought you loved him" I say "I did but , he was always getting drunk and starting fights" "I hate fights" she says "Where's Two-bit?" she asks finally realizing he's not here "He ran after Dally" Ponyboy says and I sigh in annoyance that someone said his name "I think you should just take us to Ponyboy's" I say looking at Cherry again "Okay yeah..where's that?" she asks looking back at Ponyboy "Just keep driving down this street" he says and she takes off.

"This it?" she asks stopping in front of his house "Yeah" he says opening the door "Y/n , look your dads car is back here" Pony says getting out of the car "Shit.." I say getting out. Johnny gets out too "Call me when you can" Cherry says looking at me "Okay , thanks for the ride" I say waving at her "Yeah , good luck" she says before driving off. We all look at each other then walk inside. Darry sitting on his chair that faces the front door while Sodas leaned against the wall and Two-bit and Dally sit on the sofa "Okay , cmon" Darry says getting up while Soda and Two-bit follow his lead "Johnny , Ponyboy , let's go" Darry says opening the front door while Soda and my brother walk outside. "Whats going on?" Johnny asks "Just cmon" Darry says while Johnny and Ponyboy walk outside [ *click* ] the front door shuts and it's just me and Dally. I sit in Darry's chair crossing my arms leaning back , "That Cherry girl sure does hate me" Dally says breaking the silence "You think?" I ask "Yeah I do think" he says I try not to laugh at his sarcastic remarks but I a small giggle comes out. "Sorry" I say "For what?" he asks lighting a cigarette "For yelling at you" I say "Well if it makes you feel better Cherry threw popcorn all over me" he says blowing out some smoke "I do feel a little better now" I say uncrossing my arms "I'll bet it does" he says "Want one?" he asks offering me a cigarette "Sure" I say getting up and walking over to the sofa sitting down by him. I take the cigarette and lighter from him "So we're good?" I ask him "Yeah sure kid , we're good" he says "So did I take your first kiss?" he asks "No , don't worry" I say "Well who did?" he asks "That's...something you'll never know" I say "Since you don't like me who do you like?" he asks "Hm...Johnny" I say blowing smoke out "Oh Johnny? He'll treat you better than I can" he says doing the same "So I've heard" I say [ *knock* ] "Hey are you two friends again? I need to pee" Sodas muffled voice says , I look at Dally and he nods "Yeah!" I yell and the door opens "Thanks , I almost pissed myself" Soda says running to the bathroom and everyone else comes back in "Smoking inside? Do you want to get beat?" Darry asks us "Sorry grandpa" I say putting my cigarette out. I get off the couch "Pony , Johnny, want to go to the park?" I ask them "Yeah" Johnny nods "Darry can I?" Ponyboy asks Darry thinks for a little "Yeah but don't come back for cigarettes this time" he says and we walk to the park again.

We get to the park I sit on the merry-go-round while Pony and Johnny get on the monkey bars. "Anyone got a cigarette?" I ask , Ponyboy throws me his pack and lighter "Came prepared this time" he says "I swear if Bob and Randy come out here , I'm going to lose it" I say lighting my cigarette "Well someone's here" Johnny says I look back and see a car pull up "Oh that's just Cherry" I say waving at her "Hey guys!" she says coming over to us "What are you doing here?" I ask her "I didn't want to go home yet so I just drove around" she says "Y'all didn't get in trouble?" "No , they just stuck me inside with Dally and we talked it out" I say "What'd y'all even talk about?" Ponyboy asks knocking some ashes on the ground "Eh well he said that Cherry must really hate him then told me how she spilt popcorn on him then I felt better after that and he offered me a cigarette" "Good job by the way" I say looking at Cherry "Well thank you" she says smiling. We sit in silence then I look over at Cherry and notice she's staring at Ponyboy while he's looking at the ground when he looks up she looks away. "Cherry.." I say she looks at me and I signal for her to bring her ear towards me. After a few seconds Cherry says "Ponyboy , will you help me get some blankets it's a little chilly" she says "Yeah sure" he says hopping of the monkey bars and they walk over to Cherry's car.
