I was lying in bed. I had skipped breakfast. Everyone assumed I was oversleeping, which I would get in trouble for later.

No one had said anything about Calista gone. Aspis and Cyra were still helping me with my magic. I felt bad for lying to them about me just having telekinesis, but like my mother said.

A friend would betray me. I needed to learn magic to protect myself from them. I hadn't talked to Luke at all. The whole thing was just fucked up for me even to process.

The camp though...oh the camp was on edge about the master bolt.  People say they heard Chiron and Mr D discuss the Arch and Percy falling.

That's all I picked up before spacing out.

I heard knocking so I got up to open the door. "Aspis."

He stood there with a smile. "Can I come in?" He asked.

I nodded stepping out of the way. I noticed his eyes on my mother's sculpture.

"This is beautiful." He said. I laughed at his comment. He looked around more before turning to me.

"I'm worried about you." He said.
I shook my head. "Don't be."

Sure, Calista was on my mind 24/7. I still wanted to know what she meant by plan. But...I couldn't ask.

"Well, you skipped breakfast, and I managed to get a muffin for you." He opened his bag and took out a wrapped muffin.

I smiled at his kindness and took the muffin, muttering a thank you. All he did was nod.

"So uh, Cyra and I were gonna practice our powers later by the lake." He said.

"We are going to the lake this time, so uh, Cyra doesn't burn anything in the forest." I laughed at this.

"Is it okay if I join you?" I asked.

He started at me for a few seconds before clearing his throat. "Of course I'll come get you."

He started walking to the door about to leave but I stopped him. "Aspis?"

He hummed turning back. "Thank you," I said. He smiled at me and then proceeded to leave my cabin.

Before my door closed I noticed a certain curly head. Luke.

I didn't have the energy to deal with him.

We hadn't talked at all. It was me not wanting to talk and him being proud of everything.

Did he seriously think I'd say yes to his confession with Calista missing?

Please.

Before I could walk into my room someone knocked on my door. I groaned and dragged my feet to the door answering it.

Of course, it was Luke.

"Look if you're gonna talk about what happened I'd rather not I'm kind of pissed." Luke nodded at my words but opened his mouth to speak.

"I need your help," he said. I widened my eyes. Out of all people why me?

I opened the door wider and he walked in. "Speak," I commanded.

"Annabeth and Percy called earlier," he said. I gasped. Percy and Annabeth? "How what's going on?" I asked.

"They communicated with an Iris call I name it. They said Grover managed to get something out of Ares, the war god." Ares? A god?!

I nodded for him to continue. "They believe Clarisse stole the bolt."

"The solstice is today later on, I'm afraid they won't complete their quest." Luke finished.

Something was up. "I'll help in any way, I'll bring Aspis and Cyra," I said. Luke shook his head. "Not Aspis."

I arched a brow. "And why is that?" "Aspis isn't who he says he is..." Luke said.

"He's odd okay, I was thinking earlier about him-" "Weirdo," I commented.

He stared at me blankly before continuing. "No one remembers when he arrived at camp, or when he was claimed. Not even Cyrus his 'cousin' knows." I guess it was weird.

"If you're trying to get me to stay away from Aspis it's not happening. He and I are friends now so deal with it." I glared at Luke.

"Just please be careful." Luke left my cabin shortly after that. I guess it was weird that Aspis had no clear history of his stay at camp.

I'd take Luke's advice I guess. I was still thinking about his other words. Clarisse stealing the bolt. Why would she do that? She was satisfied with giving campers a hard time. So why would she need to steal her grandfather's bolt?

I made a mental note to talk to Cyrus and Cyra about Aspis. I went to get ready for the day. I had to get out of my cabin at least for a bit. Maybe get something to eat maybe. Calista may have been gone both physically and mentally but that didn't mean it would have to fuck me up.

I wanted to stay strong for her so I could look for her soon. I was secretly praying that Percy was almost done with his quest so he could come back and celebrate with the camp so I could sneak away.

I took a shower and styled my hair. I chose shorts for the day and of course the camp shirt. I put my sneakers on and grabbed my bag. I went out of my cabin and walked to the lake. I know if Calista were here we would have been sitting by the lake. She would talk about her siblings and their fashion choices while I listened. I guess Calista was like a sister to me and I cared for her.

I had to look for her. I had to. I heard footsteps behind me. I turned and saw Aspis jogging to my spot. "Y/n!" he said.

I had forgotten about the training part. I was still thinking about Calista and Luke. "Hey Aspis!" I replied with a cheerful voice? I wanted him to not suspect anything at all.

"Cyra and I were just about to train, Are you still up to join us?" He asked. I nodded. "Sure uh give me a few minutes ill meet you there." He nodded and jogged away. I needed to talk to Cyra and Cyrus. Alone. Not with Luke or Aspis. They were both acting strange.
