one (Charlie, you can't let him walk all over you like that)

The morning after was beyond miserable. The typically cheerful nature of the castle now felt dull and gloomy. The walls were trapping every depressing thought Charlie had and mocking her in the process.

Never had she felt so disappointed in another human being she thought she could trust with her whole body and soul. Her whole life, she had spent trusting him with her secrets, darkest thoughts, and wildest dreams. Red hair and a lier was not how she would ever describe him and yet that's all that ran through her brain as she sat down in the Great Hall for the first time without a single friend by her side.

Forgetting what had happened, she continued to sit at the Gryffindor table regardless of her status, leaving many to send her disgusted looks and whisper about her. She had grown used to this during her time dating Ron, so it wasn't anything too out of the ordinary. Lions and snakes were never meant to get along, and yet that's all she craved now.

For the first time in a very long time, she felt external loneliness that matched how she felt inside. The way everyone looked at her with pity and sympathy, rather than empathy, it was baffling to her. Her self-worth got lost in the waves, along with her mental dignity.

"Are you alright?" a familiar male voice asked, shaking his head mutter a 'that's a stupid question course not' to himself

Charlie looked up to see Harry's warm green eyes looking down at her with the empathy she craved. Her heart fluttered, and her face went red at the sight of him. Had he always been that handsome? His jawline was sharper than she originally had perceived. His hair messy still managed to look like soft clouds. He was her savior in her dark times, something she'd be forever grateful for.

"I've definitely seen betters days" was the only non depressing response the girl managed to muster up, causing Harry to throw back his head in laughter. His hair flipped up and caught a ray of majestic sunlight.

She so desperately wanted to grab into her chest to calm her heartbeat down. Ron had not made her feel like this in a very long time, and Harry made it seem like it came naturally. She brushed it off as being overly emotion and motioned for Harry to sit down next to her. Charlie desperately wanted him to keep her company, and the loneliness eating at her, even for a little bit, was damaging her mental health.

"Charlie, you can't let him walk all over you like that," Harry whispered as he filled his plate with various foods, the crowd of students staring at him, watching his every move like a committee of vultures. Not even the thunder or lightening from the rain fall could avert their attention away from the two friends.

Charlie looked over at him with a sad smile. "I know," she managed to say, distracting herself by eating the food she had gathered onto her plate

She knew Harry was right. He nearly always was. Charlie deserved so much better than to get walked all over and expect to later just forgive the person for ruining her. It was easier said than done when everyone used the girl for her kindness and generosity. They often joked that she would make a much better hufflepuff rather than a Slytherin

"Well, you know I'm here for you through thick and thin regardless of what he says." Harry smiled at her, forgetting he had water in his mouth.  The girl laughed as she watched it pour down into his lap all at once, making it appear as though he had pissed himself.

"Oh God, Harry, are you alright?" The girl tried to contain her laughter. Unlucky for her, she wasn't very successful. Harry glared at her for a moment before sending her a cheeky smile.

Sarcasam dripped from his voice. "Me oh, I'm just peachy, thanks." he rolled his eyes, casting a spell and drying himself off. He couldn't help but smile. Seeing the girl happier than previously made him feel loads better. Harry always felt like he had the deepest connection with Charlie. When they first met back on the train station during the first year, everything seemed to click and fall into place. The world seemed to stop spinning on its axis whenever Charlie was around.

Neither knew why their viewpoints were on one another, nor would they share those viewpoints with each other. The comfortable silence of sitting next to each other whilst sharing a meal was enough for them in the moment.

It did get Charlie thinking of what she could or rather should do next. Talking to Ron would be too difficult she needed to give herself time to heal. The strong need for a bit of petty revenge consumed her mind. At first, she was desperate to shake it, but as time grew, she began to accept and even like the idea of taking the petty route.

That's when an idea struck. It was brilliant, unexpected, and possibly dangerous if anyone caught on to what she planned to do. A little danger never bothered Charlie before, and with that, a smile spread across her face as she began planning everything in her head on how it would work logistically.

Harry looked over her and smiled. "What are you smiling about?" he poked her cheek before chuckling to himself, waiting for what could possibly have her smiling in a time like this.

"Oh nothing," Charlie lied with a grin, getting back at Harry by poking him in the cheek

He simply laughed at the girl finishing up the last bit of breakfast he had left blissfully unaware of what was to go down within the next few days and how it would change his and everyone around himself lives forever.
