six (You make me feel like I'm magic)
Charlie's eyes flickered across the dull classroom walls. Her classes without Harry seemed extra dull compared to the ones she had with him. Those classes seemed like magic. His effect on her in the way she felt so giddy to see him. It was remarkable. It was as if the kiss had changed everything. In a way, it did. It opened up a whole new world-a whole new avenue for the couple.
Harry now saw the girl as a radiant goddess, kissed by the sun, rather than just his best friend. Her skin and body were flawless, and not a single imperfection was to be found. He believed that she would accept him with all his flaws, which nobody else seemed to notice or chose to ignore, as he was idolized for being the chosen one.
These noticeable changes did not go unnoticed by the student population. Many students began talking about the couple again, bringing them up whenever they could. It was fascinating how invested they were in a relationship. They knew next to nothing about it. Especially a relationship that wasn't even real. It was all based on lies.
The professor ended the class, and Charlie swiftly rose from her seat to leave. She had a free period with Harry, who had invited her for a lovely picnic in the courtyard. Charlie had been looking forward to it all day. It helped her stay focused during classes so that she didn't doze off. Being a student wasn't easy, especially when the classrooms seemed to become duller with each passing year. Maybe it was just Charlie's mindset that changed over time.
It was not helping that Charlie was constantly putting her life in danger for Harry's sake, and now, as his fake partner, the risks were increasing. However, Harry had not yet realized the risks that he had put Charlie into by involving her in his dangerous life. Maybe if he kept telling himself it was fine because he was there to protect her, Harry would never realise true dangers.
As the pair got closer to each other, they embraced in a warm hug. One that was filled with pure joy and eternal bliss. Meeting up with such intentions only warmed their hearts and further shared a small yet sweet kiss. It was delicate and gentle like a daisy swaying in a warm summer breeze.
"God, I've missed doing that," Harry whispered the pair erupting into giggles as he did so
It hadn't even been long, and yet the time passed felt like eons. Together, time was forgotten, and nearly a construct they couldn't follow. Too ingrossed within each other to remember the basic things around them.
The two got lost in each other's eyes like it was a window to another dimension. The wrenching felt so familiar yet so strange and encaptuating. It almost hurt to look away. So drawn in so isolated to one another, no comprehension of the world around them.
As of space and time, we looked at one another, waiting to see what they could do when the two looked so in love, and yet they weren't supposed to be. It was all supposed to be pretend. Was it even really pretending anymore? How could it be? However, it was hard to believe Charlie could truly move on so quickly. Yet it was possible, and in the best way, maybe she had.
"I missed you," Harry spoke up with a grin dancing upon his face
"I bet I missed you more," Charlie challenged the pair exchanged eyebrow raises
Harry contimplated for a moment before speaking up. "Show me with your hands, then how much?" his question caught the girl off guard before she got an idea
She stretched her arms super wide. "This much!" Charlie exclaimed before running into his arms again, wrapping her arms around his neck and smiling.
Harry picked up the girl and spun her around before gently setting her down, dipping her and bringing her into a chaste kiss.
"You make me feel like I'm magic," the girl breathed out in pure childlike wonder
Ron had never treated her like this. Not once had he gone out of his way like Harry had. He had always pecked her cheek and kept minimal contact. He liked to be more affectionate in private, much to Charlie's dismay. She wanted to be shown off to the world and let everyone know she belonged with him.
Perhaps that's why they didn't work out, perhaps that's why Charlie wasn't fully ready to admit she had fallen for someone else do quickly when she hadn't realised she had already let go of the guy she claimed she loved so dearly. In her mind, she still wanted him, but she wasn't so sure that was truly what she wanted.
Harry and Charlie walked together hand in hand towards the blanket he had set up on the grassy area. It had a beautiful basket that seemed to be woven by the hands of Mrs. Weasely with that signature touch, you just knew it was her. The thought of the loving mother made Charlie's smile widen even further.
Pulling out possibly the brightest scarlet strawberries the girl had ever seen, the pair began feeding one another, enjoying each other's presence and the time spent together as a couple of sorts.
The food not only energized the pair but kept them intranced with one another. The collection of various flavors reminded one another of their various adventures.
Harry pulls something from his pocket, and much to Charlie's suprise, it's a penny, a muggle coin she hadn't seen in ages.
"Care to make a wish by the fountain?" he asked, and without a moment of hesitation, Charlie grabbed the coin and sprinted towards the fountain, Harry trailed behind her.
The pair sat down together, Harry watched intently as the girl closed her eyes, presumably thinking of a wish to make. It was sweet how moments like this slowed down time enough for the pair to take everything in and just breathe.
Of course, nothing good lasts forever, and by some invisible force, presumably a spell, sent Charlie backward right into the fountain, drenching her from head to toe.
Her face flushed crimson as she sat there unsure of what to do. Students began whispering, and without a second thought, Harry fell backward right into the fountain.
"Thank you," Charlie muttered with a smile as the student body around went wild, cheering and hollering for the couple
The two quickly made their way out of the fountain and headed for their dorms to get dry clothes before class. While the date wasn't perfect, it was exactly the kind of date Charlie had dreamed of and the simple thought of that had her heart fluttering.
