z nation: 10k and Cassandra one shots

Everything happened so fast,i couldn't save her like i always do. This run was suicidal and i knew from the start it was but i didn't do anything,i lost everyone I'm close to. My pa,homer,and now the love of my life,Cassandra.

"Cassandra.... I'm..... I'm sorry" i cried holding her in my arms "you should of.......stayed at the car, i knew you should.....of.... This is all my....... Fault"

"10k.... I.... I don....t.... Blame you" Cassandra breathed looking extremely pale "i... Can...n ..n.....never... Hate or... Blame... You"

"Cassandra please don't leave me" i begged kissing her cheek "promise me you won't"

"10k we.... Both.... Know that's... Impossible for............ Me to do" Cassandra said grasping for air and i brought her to my body wrapping my arms around her. I could hear warren screaming for us all to get out but how could I? Cassandra is in my arms and i won't leave.

"10k? Cassandra? Is everything alright?" warren asked coming inside the store and she gasp when she saw us. A bite mark on Cassandra's left forearm,a z with more than a bullet hole threw he's head cuz i grabbed a hammer and smashed its head, then i was completely covered in blood "oh my god. What happened?"

"I got trapped under..... A fence and zs........ Cassandra tried...... To..... To help me but she got bit...... I got out..... Um... Before she got bit..... But..... I was late" i tried to explain without crying but there's no way i could of.

"I'm sorry 10k" warren said patting my back,she pulled out her gun and i grabbed it throwing it away "10k we have to give Cassandra mercy"

"I can't" i looked up at warren and she nodded but she had a sympathetic looked on her face.

"10k... Do it....... I don't... Want to turn...... I want you..... To do it" Cassandra begged grabbing my hands in hers "please"

"Cass.... You.... Know............ I can't p.... Please stay"

"I'll leave you two alone,here 10k" warren said giving me second gun and i put it next to me "Cassandra we will never forget you" warren saluted her and walked away shaking her head.

"I love you Cassandra and i don't want to let you go" i said and she started spitting out blood,i grabbed a rag and wiped her mouth cleaned but she kept spitting out more. I sat her up and patted her back "come on cass, you survived worse"

"Don't lie...... 10k..... Just..j...just get it...... Over" Cassandra said looking at me and i grabbed the gun,and pointed it at her head.

"Cassandra.....i-i-i-i" i pulled down the gun panting.

"You got.... This" Cassandra encouraged me and i tried it again.

"Cassandra.....i...give you.... Mercy" i said it but i couldn't pull the trigger,i sighed putting the gun back down and wiping away my tears "cass i can't!"

"Please tommy....... Just think of... Me as another....z.... Add to your count" Cassandra said with a fake smile and laugh "go..."

"Cassandra?" i checked her heartbeat and there wasn't one, biteing my lips i grab the gun and aim it at her head "i give.... You mercy..... Cass i love you" i said with tears going down my cheek,squeezing the trigger i shot her. I fell backwards looking at my hands,i threw the gun and looked at Cassandra's body,she looks peaceful besides the bullet hole.

It's been two days since i gave Cassandra mercy and all i can think about is the moments we spent together all the times she accused me of putting zs body parts in her hair so i can pull them out later,when she fell down and couldn't walk so i gave her a best friend piggyback ride, those moments meant everything to me.

"10k" i heard Cassandra's voice fill my ears like it did since she left "you always put body parts in my hair" Cassandra's voice laughed.

"I never did cass" i said back smiling but i shook my head cuz i know it's fake,all in my head. Doc warren or Murphy can't hear her only i can so it's fake,but i really wish it wasn't.

"10k please talk to me" Cassandra said again and i ignored her and tried to go to sleep "10k please don't ignore me"

"You're not real! Just in my head!" i yelled covering my ears trying to block her.

"Remember when i caught you putting half a tounge in my hair?" Cassandra laughed and i ran out my tent pulling on my hair.

"I'm losing it" i bit my lips, closing my eyes "it's all fake,all of it. I'm losing it"

"No you're not 10k" when will it end? "Look at me"

"You're not real!" i shouted looking up and there she was,in a white dress that went to her ankle with a smile on her face "Cassandra.... Doc! Warren!"

"What's wrong 10k?" warren asked running threw Cassandra and she disappeared "you look like you seen a ghost"

"Cassandra.... Cassandra was right there...... You ran threw her" i said and they looked at me then at each other "I'm not crazy! I saw her!"

"10k look you just miss her" doc said but i shook my head.

"10k calm down" Cassandra said behind me and i turned to see if i can see her again "relax,think of the moments we shared"

"10k drink some water" warren suggested giving me a water bottle. Taking sips i thought about Cassandra eventually calming myself down.

"Take it easy 10k,I'll always be here to accuse you of putting body parts in my hair. I'm not leaving" Cassandra said and i shook my head.

"I never did that" i whispered but warren and doc stilled heard me.

"10k who are you talking to?" doc asked kneeling down but i didn't answer because i already tried and they think I'm crazy.

"No one" getting up i slowly walked back to my tent and layed down "just cass"

"Goodnight tommy"
