z nation: 10k and Cassandra one shots

It hasn't been long since I joined this group of eight survivors including me, and I already have feelings for cassandra but she's scared of me. Every time I try to do something nice like give her a rose or some water she looks at my out stretched hand then at me with fear in her eyes, it's so bad she doesn't even try to keep a conversation with me. "How are you today?" I asked cassandra who was seating across from me because she looked even more terrified then usual since we came into philly. Cassandra glanced at me for a second before she turned to look anywhere else but at me as she shrugged one shoulder,sighing I looked down just as the truck stop and I got out.

Garnett and warren passed out are last pieces of food which was Twinkies, Murphy eat he's the fastest followed by Addy and Mack leaving Garnett, warren, cassandra and me. I was slowly eating mine but cassandra just looked at hers and put it way without even opening it "enjoy, that was the last of the food. We have to find more supplies" nodding I took another small bite then stuffed the whole Twinkie in my mouth because Murphy was reaching over to take it from me.

"Doc you stay here with Murphy and keep an eye on him. Mack you and Addy are partners and 10k your with cassandra, find any food,water,ammo or weapons we can use and try to be back in three hours" warren order and I nodded my head,this isn't the first time I go on a run with cassandra and something tells me it's isn't going to be the last one. Turning on my heels I saw cassandra was already leaving and I quickly started running to catch up with her.

"Cassandra you can't leave me,I'm your partner!" I yelled grabbing her shoulder and she slapped it off continuing to run. "Cassandra!"

"You don't control me! Not you or anyone!" She finally said back and I shook my head clearly not understanding her "just leave me alone!"

"I can't do that cassandra,I won't leave you alone. Something could grab you and I don't want anything to happen to you!" I yelled back and we both finally stopped to catch are breaths since we pretty much ran eight miles or so, I leaned against a wall as she just put her hands on her hips.

"And since when do you care so much about me?" She didn't even let me reply before she started walking down the street looking threw the alleys like if there's going to be something waiting for her.

"Can you please stop and talk to me?" I asked and she did but even though she wasn't walking anymore she keep looking around "Why are you so scared of me? And of here,any where we go?"

"Because i" after that she froze in fear and I carefully put my hands on her shoulders saying 'you what?' But she just freaked out and pushed me into an ally hiding us from something or someone "sshh" cassandra whispered in my ear covering my mouth with her hand,I obeyed cassandra looking at her as she looked at the street we were talking at.

"I could of sworn I saw her run threw here" I head a male voice say and cassandra quickly moved closer to me and farther away the corner removing her hand from my mouth and placing it on my shoulder,her breathing became uneven and since her body was pressed against mine I could feel her heartbeat. Biting my lower lip I wrapped my arms around her small waist which made her tense up but almost immediately she relaxed.

"Stop your bullshit and find her! We need are family to be a whole again and that can't happen without my precious Sunshine!"  I heard another male yell followed by groaning so I'm going to assume he punched the other guy. Cassandra looked down and I could hear her whisper 'Tobias' and I hug her a little tighter letting her know I'm here for her,and she starts sobbing into my shoulder as my right hand starts petting her hair.

We stay like this for awhile as cassandra regains herself and she slowly stops sobbing,she pulls back a little and I move my right hand to her left cheek "who are they? And most importantly are you ok?" Cassandra just shook her head and I asked her again "who are they? You can tell me and I will still care about you no matter what. And once again,most importantly are you ok?"

"I was with them before I escaped,and they started out like everyone just wanting to survive. Tobias was strong and smart that he was able to keep us all feed and protected but after black summer he's wife got sick and he lost he's humanity" cassandra started chocking on her sobs, and I pulled her closer letting her cry on my shoulder again.

"It's ok I'm here,I'm here for you" I whispered in her ear softly. This is the first time cassandra has actually talked to me and I'm more than happy to listen and comfort her anyway I can.

"Once he lost he's humanity he did anything to feed us,and I mean anything 10k" hearing cassandra cry my name just broke my heart. I don't even know what he did to her but it has to be bad,really bad. "He made us... I was bait force to lure men into the camp and i had to" cassandra looked up at me and i looked down at her letting her know I'm listing "i had to... Let the men get distracted by letting them kiss all over me"

At first i was speechless,how could anyone do something like this to cassandra? "Cassandra I'm so sorry... I didn't know,i wish that never happened to you"

"That isn't even the worst part. When they were fully distracted we had to taser them so that tobias can cook them later... But if we got caught we were beaten by the men till tobias came in and tazered them and us till we couldn't stand by are self" by now i couldn't take hearing cassandra say anymore about her past,i told her to stop and she obeyed continuing to quietly sob on my shoulder. Sighing i let go looking down at her and she just looked down probably thinking i hate her "i understand if you no longer want to be my friend, i was a cannibal"

"Cassandra i still want to be your friend no matter what,and after hearing what you said just makes me want to protect you even more" i put my finger under her chin making her look at me "plus now i know why your so scared of me, and i plan to show you I'm not like them" slowly i kissed her forehead which made her flinch and i froze scared. Even thought cassandra is scared of me I'm still scared of her because she's not just beautiful but strong, and I'm sure she isn't scared to fight a z or someone.

Cassandra smiled and whispered in my ear "I'm glad I'm not the only one scared... You're just as scared of me, as i am of you"

"I'm not scared just worried... Worried that you hated me for something i did,but I'm glad your not mad at me" i said not completely lying, i am scared of cassandra but i was more worried than scared. Looking around the corner i frowned when there wasn't no z for me to kill but that quickly changed when i felt cassandra's lips barely peck my right cheek i smiled immediately making her giggle.

"Your cute in a dorky way 10k" smiling even bigger i gently grabbed her wrist walking out the ally "what are you doing?"

"I want you to trust me one hundredth percent before i try anything" cassandra looked down blushing and i stopped to give her a quick kiss on her cheek "i love you"

"I love you to but i need more time if that's ok" it broke my heart but i nodded my head smiling.

"I will wait as long as you need"
