ELAINE
I would do anything to get into my dream university, even if it means I have to move to another country and leave my friends and the rest of my family behind. The Sensmore College, located in New Hampshire, is the most beautiful college I have ever seen. The day I got my acceptance letter is the best day of my life. I got accepted in Yale, Princeton and Sensmore. I could choose Yale or Princeton, but I chose Sensmore. My father always travels when he's working and I'd probably be at campus 80% of the time. So, my father and I bought a house in New Hampshire and moved in. It was a small house, but pretty comfortable.
The very first day of college, let me tell you that it was very terrifying. I was a loser, don't take pity on me, I really was a loser. I'm invisible, I have no friends, and no one wants to approach me because they apparently think that I am a freak. I mean, everyone already has their own friend groups (I think that's one of the reasons). I'm alone for the first week or two, actually getting the hang of it.
On the third week, Friday, to be exact. I was eating my lunch in the cafeteria while everybody was talking about joining some clubs. I hardly care about that. I always thought that it was such a waste of time. Until, there it is. Shakespearean Stage Play. That's the only thing I like. I was about to go to their stand and sign my name until these two boys bumped on me.
"Oh man, I am so sorry," one of them said. I fell to the floor and dropped the books in my hand. That's when I realised that we had made a scene. I didn't like being stared at, especially when you just fell to the floor all messed up.
"Alright! There's nothing to see here, the show is over!" the boy screams. His friend came to me to help pick up my books.
"You alright?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm fine. Thanks," I said. We got off the floor and he handed me back my books.
"Listen, I'm really, really sorry about that," the other spoke up.
"No, it's alright. I'm perfectly fine. I mean it's not entirely your fault, this place is so crowded."
"That's a relief. I'm Woods, Grayson Woods. And this is my friend, Vesper Elnath." Vesper gave a little wave and smiled. I smiled back trying to be polite.
"Like the star?" I ask him.
"Yes, like the star." Vesper said, "What about you, what is your name?"
"The name's Elaine Ronan."
"Is there anything we can do to make it up?"
"You guys don't have to do anything really, it was nothing."
"How about some coffee?" he asked.
"That would be great actually. Thanks."
"No problems."
We were already heading to a coffee place and I totally forgot about the club. "But I need to sign for the club first." I stumbled over my words.
"What club are you going for?" Grayson raised an eyebrow.
"Shakespearean Stage Play. It looks fun."
"Really? We are signing there too!" He beamed with excitement.
"I believe that we are going to be good friends," Vesper added with equal joy.
Grayson and Vesper showed me that coffee place, just right beside the campus. And we talked. I'm surprised that we get along really well. And from that moment, we became inseparable. The other just came out of nowhere. I met Echo Velley when the roommates system got messed up and we became friends. Wini? I was in the library one evening and Winifred Hawkins was in need of help to find some books and she was really kind so we became friends too.
