She closed up the book and looked up to her daughter who was cuddled up near the lit fireplace. The entire house smells like cinnamon rolls, and the Christmas tree was perfectly decorated with a bunch of ornaments and glitters.

“You know Mom?” her daughter asked.

     “What, honey?”

“I will never get bored of that story, I just love it!” she said with a laugh. “Can you tell me that story again? Pleasee! i really love the beginning of the story." her daughter begged.

“Maybe another time, It’s a pretty long book I wrote.”

“Tomorrow? On Christmas morning?” her daughter insisted.

“We’ll see,” she said to her daughter, putting her book back on the shelf. “Now, maybe if you’ve learned how to read properly, you can read the book any time you want.”

“Yes, I would love that!” her daughter beamed.

“Now, before you go to sleep. Lets practice one more time. How do you introduce yourself to the teacher for the very first day you go to school?”

“Umm,” she started saying. “I'm Grayson Ronan. But my friends calls me Gracie. I'm an only daughter to Elaine Ronan and Oliver McKenley. My favourite colours are emerald and air force blue. My family and I lived in a house on a town called Cape Cod in Massachusetts,” her daughter said with a little struggle and a pause in between words.

“Now thats better! great job Gracie.  Now off to bed, we’re going to play in the snow first thing in the morning!” she announced and her daughter seems to be happy and cheery about it. Elaine tucked her daughter into bed, but before Elaine could close the door and say goodbye, Gracie called out again.

      “Mom?”

      “Yes, Grayson?”

“You said that you wrote that book for your Grayson, right?” she said with a confused look on her face as she trying to remember what was she trying to say.

“That is true, I'm surprised you remembered.”

“Well, where is he now? Has he read the book you wrote to him?”

“He’s in the best place that only certain people can go in and I'm sure he knows about the book. He's the one who told me to write it." she answered with a smile and tears filling up her eyes. She turned around and turning of the light, hoping her daughter didn't see her tears rolled down her cheek. She walks out and leaving the door just an inch open.
