❝ this fucking sucks.. ❞
you sighed, looking out of your classroom window. second week back from spring break and you were currently in detention for "talking back to an adult." which was obviously not true.
well, maybe a little bit—but that's besides that point.
you didn't seem to mind that you were in detention. sure, your mother might scold you when you got home, but you had other things on your mind. you just wanted to get out of the stuffy classroom and into the one place where you could think freely. a place where you almost always feel safe.
10 minutes had passed. you turned your head to the door that was now opening, revealing the vice principal.
"l/n, your detention is over. make sure to give your homeroom teacher her written apology tomorrow." fighting back the urge to roll your eyes, the only thing you did was nod and hurriedly grabbed your stuff to leave. you held a soft smile on your face as you walked near the trees that were being hit with the semi-rough breeze. you could tell you were nearing your destination as you seen a cherry blossom tree in the distance that's hidden amongst the other plain-looking trees.
you finally neared your destination, though, you soon paused seeing that someone else was there. of course it wasn't a problem with that, it's just that no one really bothers coming to cherry blossom trees anymore. you still went up to the tree, person there or not, and sat on the opposite side from them.
"you come here a lot?" the teen on the other side from you spoke. their voice sounded awfully sad, but who is actually happy in this world. "this is the only place that keeps me sane, so yeah," you chuckled, the teen chuckling with you as well. "what brings you here? i'm the only person i know who comes here often." you asked as you merely stared at the sky, awaiting for an answer. "i don't know, actually." the teen admitted. they paused before speaking once more.
"i saw this tree and thought it'd be great to get an escape from reality for a second." you heard the teen sigh. "i can feel that on a high level." you sighed heavily, fiddling with your bag handles as you were speaking. the mysterious teen just chuckled.
you decided to stand up and walk to the side this mysterious teen sat. with your hands interlocked and behind your back, you walked over and tilted your head. the boy looked up to you with his blue eyes. he had messy black hair that hovered right above his eyebrows, which swung in which ever way the wind was blowing, making it even messier. you had to admit though..
"you're like.. so beautiful it's crazy!" you let a small gasp escape from your lips. the beautiful teenager just laughed at your antics.
"thank you..? what's your name?" he asked with a slight smile on his face.
"l/n y/n." you introduced yourself. you looked down and pointed to the empty spot next to him. he followed where your finger was pointed at and nodded, scooting over to make more room for you. "nice to meet you, my name is akaashi keiji."
"even your name is beautiful!!" akaashis face transferred into a confused expression before a small smirk took over. "don't go falling for me now, we just met." he quirked one of his eyebrows up, letting his smirk grow a bit larger.
"H-HEY!" a yelp escaped your lips, making your upper body move the opposite way from akaashi. "no one was falling for anyone, got that?!" you huffed crossing your arms. akaashi just chuckled at you, who was currently putting on an 'intimidating' facade.
"what's some of your hobbies?" akaashi inquiried, watching your intimidating face slowly fade. you thought for awhile before speaking.
"definitely painting!" you exclaimed, pointing your index finger to the sky with a bright smile on your face. "i have many other hobbies but they just don't do it the way painting does it!" you giggled. akaashi only looked at you with a small smile remaining, as if he were admiring you.
"you?" the question quickly made akaashi snap out of la la land. you noticed he hesitated a bit before opening his mouth. "i like to write poems, and sometimes draw." you, being the over dramatic person you are, dropped your jaw. "really? do you mind if you show me?!!" akaashi chuckled at your excitement. he then started to dig in his bag and pulled out what seems like a sketchbook.
he handed you the book and said you could take a look at it. you told him to scoot closer to you so he could explain his drawings if he wanted, and that he did. with every page you flipped you either let out an obnoxious gasp or let your face expressions do the dramatic talk for you.
"i'm no where near your level!" you playfully pouted, handing him back his sketchbook. "sounds like a skill issue." he stifled his laughs while looking at your offended face.
"what about you? can i see your drawings?" akaashi suddenly asked, which made you start sulking. "boy, do i wish i could show you," you only sighed, crossing your arms across your chest. "a couple of girls ripped apart my drawings when i wasn't around, you could barley even tell what the drawing was anymore.. so i just threw it all away." with that, you stopped sulking and immediately jumped up, sorta startling the boy who sat next to you.
you slapped your fist against your palm and wore a devious look on your face. "but it's okay, cause those whores won't see what'll hit them." you ended your devious sentence with a devious laugh, making akaashi concerned. not for you, obviously. concerned for the girls. but whatever, they deserve it anyways.
"well—it's been fun, my cherry blossom friend, but i must go now," you exaggerated and stood up, grabbing all of your stuff. "goodbye then, my cherry blossom friend," akaashi playfully pouted. you hurriedly walked home, making sure you were back just in time before your mother got worried about you.
