❝ came back to see me again? ❞
you joked, playfully grinning while walking up to akaashi who was in the same spot as yesterday. "nope. i would never," he joked back with you, even though that's exactly why he came back.
"how was your day, l/n?" akaashi asked, turning his head to see your face. "better now i'm seeing you! also, call me y/n!" you could tell akaashi was a bit taken back from the first part you said but he soon reverted back to his normal face expression. "what about you? how was your day?" he shrugged, "the same as every day. boring." a small smile started to form onto his lips. "but it should be more fun now."
you rolled your eyes, beginning to talk. "but you didn't come back to see me? yeah right." you mocked akaashi, who only quietly laughed at you— which made you start laughing as well.
it became silent after a while but you didn't mind. before silence fell between you two, you noticed akaashi started sketching in his sketchbook. you tried to peak at it but he instantly pulled it towards his chest, saying that you'd have to wait. so in the meanwhile, you took out your netendou switch (that was definitely not confiscated earlier) and sat in comfortable silence.
though, the silence soon ended since the black, messy haired boy opened his mouth to speak.
"say, what school do you go to?" akaashi asked, turning his head again to face you. "[school name] highschool, the one that's basically right next to that fukurodani school." you noticed akaashi raised one of his eyebrows.
"cool, i go to furokodani," you gave him a small smile before talking, "wanna know something cooler?" you wiggled your eyebrows earning a small chuckle from the boy. he slightly tilted his head asking what.
"i'm transferring to fukurodani next week." you hummed. "though, i wouldn't even be leaving if it weren't for those stupid plastics!" you dramatically slid your hand against your face.
"plastics?" you heard akaashi ask.
"yeah, they've been messing with me for a while now. they're the ones who messed up my sketchbook! so now, they think it's best i go to a different school." you caught a glimpse of confusion that was on akaashis face. he opened his mouth but you quickly answered the question you very much knew he was going to ask.
"i know, i know. they're the ones that should've been kicked out, but he said, and i quote; 'i was the problem anyway.'" you put up air quotes and your voice went three octaves lower trying to mock the principal. you shrugged it off, looking back at akaashi who knocked the confused look off his face.
"damn, that school sucks."
you giggled, "tell me about it."
"at least i'll be with you. you're a second year, right?" akaashi nodded. a part of you felt relieved you'd start a new school - in the middle of the year - with at least one friend. thankfully it made some of your worries go away.
before you could bring up any new conversations, your stomach did the talking for you. your arms quickly traveled to your stomach as it continued to growl. you look to your left - where akaashi was sitting - to see him already looking at you. you could only give him an embarrassing smile as your stomach just wouldn't shut up.
"okay now you're just being dramatic." you looked down at your stomach, continually poking it in order to shut it up. you didn't notice it yet since you were too busy talking to your stomach, but akaashi was digging in his bag most likely looking for something.
still trying to hush your stomach, a uneaten sandwich and a small carton of banana milk was placed in front of you. you furrowed your eyebrows and looked at akaashi who was holding it in front of you. "are you sure?"
akaashi simply nodded, "yeah. my friend shared his lunch with me since his was too big for him to finish, i wasn't able to even eat my own food." he chuckled, shoving the food into your lap.
"thank you! i couldn't eat lunch since one of those plastics took it from me and dumped it on the floor.." you sighed, unwrapping the sandwich and taking a bite from it. from the corner of your eyes you could see akaashi face slowly turn into a look of concern.
"i'm glad i had something, otherwise you'd be starving, and that's no good." you nodded, too busy stuffing your face. you continued to take bites of the sandwich until the sandwich was gone and the wrapping was only left.
"thank you again, akaashi.." you stuffed the wrapping in your bag and put your bag around your shoulder while holding your banana milk in one of your hands. "i should be going now, goodnight!" you got up and tried to speed walk away.
"uh—wait!" he called out before you got too far away. you turned around to see him standing up with his bag over his shoulder as well. "let me walk you home?" he said it as if it were more than a question than a demand. you quickly shook your head no. "ah, it's okay! i wouldn't want to be a bother.. see you tomorrow!" again, you hurriedly scrambled away.
"you wouldn't bother me in the least." akaashi mumbled, looking at you walk away. your figure slowly disappearing as you were getting further and further in the distance. the boy had a big smile on his face as he watched you fully disappear.
you too, had a big smile on your face as you walked away. it was nice! — to have a cherry blossom friend that is.
