A few weeks later, I stopped in front of the Litchfield Maximum Security Prison.
"Cawol!" Avery yelled from the back, and I chuckled before getting out of the car and walking towards the back before picking Avery up from his car seat.
"Are you ready to go see Carol?" I asked him, and he let out a loud scream of excitement. I smiled and kissed his head before closing the car door and locking it behind me.
We walked into the prison and walked towards the stand. "Hello, is there someone you want to visit?" The woman asked me, looking up from her computer.
"Yes, I'm here to see Carol, Carol Denning," I said, and the lady's eyes widened in shock before she cleared her throat.
"And who are you to miss Denning?" She asked.
"Her girlfriend," I said, without any hesitation, and the woman nodded before she typed something into the computer. A few seconds later, a small printer next to her printed out a small sticker, which she then handed to me.
"Have a good visit, mamm, she said before clicking a button that unlocked the door next to me.
I walked through and was met with a visitation room where I saw a few people talking to inmates on the other side of the glass.
A CO walked up to me with his hands behind his back. He had dark, curly black hair and dark brown eyes. He looked down at my sticker, and a small smirk flashed across his face.
"I never thought I would see anyone visit Carol; they usually visit Barbra," he chuckled.
I raised an eyebrow at him, rolled my eyes, and hoisted Avery very high on my hip.
"Can I see her, please? That's all I want," I said, getting slightly irritated.
"Ok, ok, just sit down at one of the stations, and we'll send her to you," he said, and I nodded before walking towards a booth and sitting down.
