As the echoes of the final clash faded, Scott and Ramona stood amidst the settling coins, their breath visible in the cold air. The weight of the battle lingered on their shoulders, but a newfound determination fueled their next steps.Scott picked up Roxie's 1-UP along with the coins, the energy pulsating through him. "Is it over? Whew, let's go make sure our friends are okay."
Ramona nodded in agreement. The subspace arena was crumbling around them, the colors blending into a whirlwind of fading memories. Without wasting any time, they made their way towards the subspace doors that would lead them back to the real world.
As they stepped through the doors, the transition between the surreal subspace and the snowy reality of the alleyway felt disorienting. The echoes of the battles were replaced by the distant sounds of the city.
Scott, ever the optimist, pointed towards the Second Cup. "I see our friends in there! I hope they're alright.."
With a renewed sense of purpose, Scott and Ramona sprinted through the snowy alleyway. The Second Cup's familiar sign came into view, and they burst through the door, their breath misting the air.
The Second Cup's familiar chime greeted Scott and Ramona as they entered, their eyes scanning the room for the band and Julie. The lingering tension from the subspace battle still clung to them as they faced the awaiting conversations
Scott, catching his breath, scanned the room. "Is everyone okay?"
Kim spoke first. "Oh great. You're alive." She said in a voice that was an octave a bit higher than usual.
"Jeez.. I just saved your lives y'know!" Scott replied. Kim, Stephen, Young Neil, and Knives, still trying to process the surreal experience, looked up as Scott and Ramona sat down.
Julie, with a stern expression, folded her arms and demanded, "Spill it, Pilgrim. Care to explain why the band AND my shop got exploded all because of your stupid love life?"
Scott scratched his head nervously. "Well.. firstly it's NOT dumb. Plus, it's a long story involving Gideon again, he's back. But first, is everyone's okay after today?"
The group gave their thumbs up and opinions on how they felt. Knives, breaking the silence between them, asked, "So.. what DID happened back there?"
Scott, with a somber expression, explained the events that unfolded in the subspace arena, including Roxie's sacrifice and Todd's defeat. The gravity of Roxie's sacrifice weighed on the room as they absorbed the shocking twists.
Kim, clenching her fists, muttered, "So, we were pawns in some twisted game? What's the deal with these evil exes and games?"
Ramona, her gaze sincere, stepped forward. "Look, I know it's a lot to take in. Todd betrayed us, but we defeated him together. Roxie... she gave everything to help us."
Julie, though still annoyed, softened at the mention of Roxie's sacrifice. "Alright, I guess that makes sense.. What's the deal with Gideon, Todd, and the rest of this chaos?"
Scott sighed, realizing the time for secrecy was over. "Gideon Graves, the guy behind this all, set up this.. game to control Ramona's love life. Todd was just a pawn, and we were players in his stupid messed-up plan."
Young Neil, wide-eyed, exclaimed, "Woah.. this is some next-level stuff. But what now?"
Ramona, determined, responded, "Now, we end this game. Gideon's the final boss, and we're not playing by his rules anymore."
