Peridot's POV
I sighed after the garnet had left on their warp pad. The steven was staring at me intently, which caused me to soon become uneasy. I shifted uncomfortably around in my seat on the tan fabric couch as his gaze intensifies.
What is with this human gem?
Is it mentally disordered or something? My body tensed up. I just remembered what i had originally come here to do.
Oh No, Oh No, Oh No!
I cant belive I forgot! Yellow Diamond is going to kill me!I guess my panicing started to show visibly on my body, because the steven started to look concerned, "Is everything okay, Peridot?" I began to break into a cold sweat as I nodded yes, I felt pretty rushed right then. I tried to think of an excuse that would allow me to go back to the kindergarten without any suspicions. I subtley glanced over to the warp pad, yet the steven noticed.
"I-I think I need to...check on her."
I said calmly and got up from the couch but I was stopped by the steven grabbing my left arm.
"No Peridot, you need to stay here."
He stated surely. After I hesitated and sat back down, the steven's confident expression quickly turned to sad and confused.
"W-What happened to Pearl?..."
He quietly asked and I straightened up, I remembered seeing two broken white rocks in the garnet's hands when she picked me up.
With little or no thought, I stated calmly, "She's Dead."
It looked as though my words had badly stung the steven. It started to tear up and choke on it's sobs.
"W-What!" The steven yelled at me, exasperated.
"Perhaps I hadn't made myself clear, she. is. broken."
I restated with no emotion. The steven began to cry dramatically. "H-How Can You Be So Calm About That!?"
It started to glare at me. "You act as though you are not used to this, Rose." I stared at the human gem confusingly.
"Thats not me!"
"But you have the rose quartz gem, how is that not you?" I inquired.
It thought for a moment, then shook it's head.
"That doesn't matter! Why is Pearl-" it cut itself off and started to tear up again.
I then began to feel...bad?I guess its not used to a gem's death yet. Surprisingly.
"The amethyst broke her." I replied coldy. It's eyes widened and it shuddered.
After a moment of no moving, it held me around my stomach and squeezed, I flinched.
"W-what are you doing!" I nervously yelled while trying to get out of it's tight grasp. I started to panic. Is This One Of It's Death Tactics!?
My uniform quickly became soaked with it's salt water tears. I was about to punch the steven off me but was stopped by the warp pad beaming in. The steven and I looked over to see the amethyst hiding behind the garnet's leg.
The steven finally let me out of it's hold and I fell backwards onto the firm couch.
It ran up to the warp pad and stared at the garnet with tears in it's eyes as it saw the broken white gem in the garnet's hand. After noticing, the garnet brought the broken gem up to her chest.
I slowly stood up to quietly inform them that I was still here.
The garnet looked over, then shoved the amethyst slightly to me. She looked terrible, more beaten up than before. She slowly walked over to me, with the steven watching, and looked up to my face. I was about one foot taller than her.
"I-Im sorry..."
she whispered to me.
Then she squeezed my body, just like the steven did. I panically wiggled out of her grasp. What is with that!?
She looked at my face with a sad expression and I looked back at her confused. "A-Amethyst..." A voice whimpered.
We both looked to the source of the sound to see the steven, now holding the broken pearl.
The amethyst started to tear up and stepped toward the steven, it stepped back. The steven looked scared as it cryed out,
"why..."
"Steven, I-"
"WHY!? Why Would You Do This!? To Pearl!?"
'Steven' screeched and I stepped back, startled by this sudden outburst.
The amethyst looked speechless as 'steven' started again,
"She Always Cared For You! She Rarely Showed It, But She Did! Why Would You Do This To Her!!"
The amethyst started to sob uncontrollably and she covered her face with her hands.
'Steven' did not cease the feirce look it gave her, only adding to her cries. The garnet stepped inbetween the two.
"Stop." She stated.
"Amethyst couldn't control herself. It was not her fault." Steven's hard glare softened at her words.
It looked down and said with gulit,
"Im sorry." But 'Amethyst' kept painfully crying, she backed up to the couch and sat down, her hands were still over her face.
I looked behind me for a moment, then slowly sat down next to her.
I grew more worried as I stared at her trembling body.
I felt so...bad again, like I really hurt deep inside...
I hesitated, then I leaned over, put my arms around her, and tightly squeezed, since that seemed like what they do to show affection towards another being.
She moved one hand slightly to look at me, then she squeezed me back. It felt strangely warming to interact with her this way, I kinda liked it.A/N- p.s, the constant "it/its" terms are used for Steven, in place of he/his
