Peridot's POV

We both stayed like that for what seemed like hours, until I finally pulled away. I looked into her glassy lavender eyes and, I dont know why but, a small smile began to show on my face. Amethyst's mouth slowly turned into a grin upon seeing me. I gently breathed out, this was becoming bizarrely comfortable. I shifted my sight to the right to see Garnet, smirking at me. I blinked and looked at her confused. "What?"
After a short moment of akward silence, Garnet changed her smirk into a frown when she tilted her head over to Steven. It was still holding the two broken and faded white rocks close to it's chest.
It sighed, looking up to Garnet.
"Come on. Lets go bury Pearl." She cooed, patting Steven's head and slowly walking over to the warp pad. I turned my head back to Amethyst, who was getting off the couch and motioned for me to follow. I nodded and stood up off of the cushion. As we all stepped onto the warp pad, I thought about warping back to Kindergarten but quickly dismissed the idea, seeing as it would definitely never succeed. After the short blue beam of light, we all appeared in a large green area that was populated with thousands of native earth plants ( meadow). Garnet led us forward with Steven close to her leg. I was next to the two of them and looked behind me to see Amethyst, she wore a deadpan expression. I could tell she was deep in thought. My mechanical legs crunched over the healthy vegetation. After a while of walking, we stopped at a large, somewhat purplish stump. Garnet and Amethyst sighed in unison as the stump was in view. Steven crouched down and placed Pearl next to him to begin digging a hole in the soft dirt. Once it dug out a hand-sized crater, it placed the broken pearl inside and covered it up with a sheet of rich, untouched soil. I could see tears form in Steven's eyes as it looked behind me. Confused, I turned around to see Amethyst, who was still in her own little world. I didn't know why, but something just seemed...wrong. I got the urge to, to,....comfort? Her?
Then, like my body had took control over, I walked backwards and crouched down next to her, making her one inch taller.
I hesitated, but then gave into the action. "A-Amethyst? Are you ok?"
She seemed to snap out of her thoughts at my words. I, indeed, was getting concerned. She looked to me with wide eyes and slowly nodded. For the next hour, the three of them just stood there, silently mourning. I was just surprised at how they respond to another 'Crystal Gems' ' death. But I guess...now that their numbers are so low now...hm.
Garnet looked up, I just now noticed that it was midnight .

All that happened in one earth day...

I shook my head in disbelief.

I thought earth days were just 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4.1 seconds?

"We should get Steven home, its far past his curfew."

"His"? Steven is a male!? There has never been a male gem before!

My eyes widened and looked at Steven. He glumly nodded his head towards Garnet and got up slowly.
I got up as well.
yes, i was crouched the whole time.
We all walked back in the direction of where we first came with Garnet leading the way again.
When finally back at the warp pad, we all stepped on. I looked back over to Steven. He did look rather tired, comfirming that he was in fact, half human. The real question is how?
The blue leam once again surrounded us as Garnet warped us all back to their base.
That was surprisingly rather quiet, no one really said anything other than short statements or replies. I looked to the side to see Amethyst trying to just act casual. She turned to Garnet, who was behind her. "So, what are we gonna do with the dorito over here?" She motioned to me.

Dorito? Is that an earth insult!?

I opened my mouth to yell and insult the purple gem back, but was stopped by Garnet putting her hand on my shoulder.
"Peridot...can stay in Pearl's room."
She said calmly, thinking it over in her head.
The Steven was already walking towards his room, so he didnt hear us. Amethyst looked shocked, her eyes were wide and her mouth was open slightly. Garnet led me behind the warp pad to the door of the temple and her right hand gem glowed, opening the white sectioned point of the star. Garnet gently scooched me into the large room with cylinder-shaped water falls. "And Peridot? Dont even think about going back to the Kindergarten." And with that, she closed the temple door, leaving just me and my thoughts.
