Peridot's POV
"Amethyst!!!!"
Steven and I shrieked at the top of our lungs in unison. A deadly silence filled the area as the loud thunder of the collision echoed throughout the room.
My eyes started to tear up even more at getting no further response.
"Amethyst!!!!!!" I screamed again, yanking and straining against Tormaline's hard grip on my hair before I finally reached up and twisted her wrist, making her let go.
"Hey!" She yelled at me as I took off towards the fallen rock. Yellow Diamond held an arm out and tried to stop me but I just jumped 5 feet over her and continued running.
When I got there to the Quartz rock, I stopped and fell to my knees, sobbing as I noticed there was a small gap from the ground.
She had retreated.Theres No Way She Can Regenerate Now!!!!
A Broken Gem Makes It Impossible!!!!!
S-She's Gone.......
I leaned forward on my hands and whispered in pain,
"N-No....T-This can't be......."
I clenched my eyes and my throat was tight as I began sobbing even louder over the rock.I don't even know why I'm acting like this again.
Yes you do.
No. I Don't.
It was like the argument in my head was completely separate from my body as I cried harder than I had ever cried before.Look at how pathetic you're being right now. Get. Up.
Once again, my body refused to listen or even cooperate as my mind got singled out into spectator mode. I started to hiccup, creating gaps inbetween sobs.
I froze when I heard a muffled groan of fustration from under the rock and it started shaking as if it was being pushed up. I gasped and stumbled back, still on my knees as it was somewhat easily thrown to the side, revealing...Amethyst? I smiled and my sorrowful tears were replaced with joy as she looked back to me, yellow was still in her eyes yet not...negatively.
"Heh. You're such a crybaby, Peri."
She chuckled when noticing my tears and glossy eyes.
For once, I didn't mind the teasing.
She directed her attention back to Tormaline, now holding Steven's limp body and Yellow Diamond who was narrowing her eyes towards us, it felt like she was planning something. The deadly silence inbetween of the two of their stares made it feel like I wasn't a part of this anymore. In a flash, Amethyst was infront of Yellow Diamond and kicked her in the face with beyond belivable force of any gem I had ever seen. Yellow Diamond stumbled back once and quickly summoned and pulled out a long yellow sword from her gem on her chest. As they continued their battle, noone seemed to notice me as I krept on my hands and knees to the side of the room where the door was.
I just sat infront of it.There it is.
What are you waiting for!? You can excape this place right now! Go!
You can't leave her. What if she needs your help?
She can handle it. She's a Kindergartener.
So is Tormaline. And there is no way she can take down two of the most strongest gems in the Yellow Diamond group all by herself!
Then why should you even try? You know you're weak and if you do jump in, you're just gonna slow her down by her worrying about you when you get your ass kicked by Tormaline again!
Ugh. I hate it when you're right...
I opened the door to the temple with my gems' glow more muffled because I was trying to be subtle about it. I stepped out, pulling myself up to my feet again and I looked to the ground the rest of the way.
Now you can just go back to-...wait.
Oh, Shit! You really do have nowhere to go!Exactly. If I'm not welcome anywhere then I can just go get lost in space or something. Better than spending a millenia of torture.
Good Point.
As I stepped off the last step of the porch, I finally looked up and froze in terror, I saw Jasper. 3 feet. Right infront of me. With her back turned. I immediately stumbled backwards and turned around to run back up the steps, but a strong bear-grip caught me by the back of my uniforsms' collar. I squeaked in fear as she yanked me back and spun me around by my shoulders to face her harsh glare.
"H-Hey- hey, J-J-Jasper."
My voice shook as I sputtered while nervously looking at her furious eyes.
Of course I was intimidated. If you saw what she does when we fight, you'd be too.
She narrowed her eyes and growled, as if deciding what to do to me.
"So,"
her grip tightened as she continued with a harsh tone.
"You're a traitor now?" I hesitantly nodded. "You know that means there's nothing stopping me from hitting you now, don't you?" I gulped and my eyes widened.
"U-uh, huh." My voice was embrassingly shrill. I closed my eyes tight and turned my head around. Accepting there was nothing I could do, I waited for a strike to the face.Amethyst's POV
Tormaline had me pinned on the ground with her boot right over my gem as she looked to the yellow gem for permission.
"No. She could be useful to us with Peridot's process. Just retreat her and return to the ship when done."
She said while grabbing Steven's limp body by his collar and casually walking to the temple door.Yellow Diamond's POV
As I step outside with the steven in my grip, I see Jasper holding Peridot, who had a large bruise on her cheek, by her hair at the bottom of the steps.
I grinned,
"Good Work, Jasper." I looked around but only saw Lapis still waiting on the edge of the ship. My grin dropped.
" Jasper, where is Garnet?"
Her proud expression quickly faded,
"Well uh- You see, I didn't really have any other choic-"
I interupted her excuse,
"Shut up."
I commanded, landing a blow to the top of her hard scalp.
"That's not what I asked for, now. Where is she." I re-asked firmly, getting impatient.
"...I threw her into the ocean..."
I facepalmed, utterly disappointed.
"I never, told you to lose her. I Told you to "take care" of her." I pointed a finger angrily at Jasper.
" You very well know what that means!"
I jabbed her arm with a tight fist and sighed.
"Retreat Peridot." I demanded, walking to the ship with the steven still in my hold.Peridot's POV
I was just still standing still in Jasper's grip as Yellow Diamond walked back to the ship.
"With pleasure." Jasper mumbled, releasing me. I sighed and hung my head down, waiting for her move.
She chuckled while she reached up, grabbed my neck and slowly choked me.
As my vision faded out, my last concern was Amethyst and Steven. This is what I get for ditching them, huh?
