"WHO DARES KILL MY GUARDIAN?!"

Hearing the booming voice, the five humans and wolf instantly froze.

Not a twitch or movement could be seen from them. It was as if some invisible pressure was forcing them to stay in place.

Who said that?! What's happening?! I can't turn my head to see what's behind me! Eve panicked internally.

"I can't move!" she squeezed out, struggling against the heavy pressure.

"Neither can I!" Kyle cried.

"Me neither!" "I can't move either!" Mason and Julia shouted as well.

Storm growled.

Eve and her students had their backs turned, unable to twist their bodies to face the voice. However, Healer Marick had a clear view of what had spoken to them moments ago.

His eyes were wide, as though they might pop out of his skull, and his jaw hung open as if he were about to scream. Instead, he could only stutter a few words.

"I-It's t-the Eye!" he stammered, fear lacing his voice.

"I WILL NOT REPEAT MYSELF! WHO DARES TO KILL MY GUARDIAN?!" The genderless voice boomed again, shaking the entire chamber they stood in.

Eve and the kids glanced at each other uncertainly, unsure how to answer the being that struck such terror into their hearts without even seeing it.

She had to say something quickly, or else they would all be annihilated without a fight.

"I did. I was the one who killed your guardian," she answered in a controlled voice.

"IS THAT SO? WHO MAY YOU BE?"

"Evelina Loughton."

"EVELINA LOUGHTON? INTERESTING."

Eve felt something touch her shoulder and slide down her arm.

It felt like a tentacle.

Disgusted, she wanted to pull away, but she couldn't move.

Suddenly, her arm was harshly grabbed, and she was forcefully turned to face the source of the voice.

Eve was now face-to-face with the being known as The Eye.

Seeing the creature, she wanted to rub her eyes to ensure she wasn't imagining things.

Because this entity looked almost exactly like Bill Cipher, a character from one of Earth's animated masterpieces from the 21st century.

Except it was a large black triangle instead of yellow. Its huge eye, with a black iris, took up nearly 90% of its body. Shadowy tentacles sprouted from its back, one of them still gripping her arm. Lastly, instead of a top hat, gray horns adorned its head.

The sight left her speechless. It terrified her to the core.

It was like a more evil version of Bill Cipher.

The entity continued speaking.

"EVELINA LOUGHTON, YOU SAY?" With its thin arms crossed, the entity floated closer to Eve's frozen form. A cold sweat formed at the back of her neck. She couldn't look away even if she wanted to.

"ISN'T YOUR NAME SUPPOSED TO BE EVELINA WINSTEAD?"

Eve's mouth gaped in shock.

"I-" she started, but coughed, a mix of nerves and fear choking her words.

Should she have used the villainess's full name instead of her own? This body belonged to the original after all.

"I no longer want to associate with the Winsteads! How do you know who I am?! Who and what are you?! Let us go!" Eve yelled, struggling to move.
