When I wake up, Harry is laid beside me, eyes barely open, getting poked and prodded at by a few nurses.

"What... what're you doing?" I mumble.

"We're prepping him for surgery, hun," Sheila says. "We have to take him back in just a few minutes."

I nod and inhale slowly and get in a sitting position, trying to wake myself up.

I gently squeeze Harry's arm. "Do you know what's going on?" I ask, not wanting him to be unaware of what they were doing.

Harry nods softly. "They're getting me ready for surgery. To get my port so I can start chemo today. I know Lou."

"Okay, just making sure," I reply.

Harry kisses my cheek. "I gotta go, babe."

"Okay, I'll be here when you get back," I promise.

Harry squeezes my hand. "Good. It's going to be okay."

I nod and give him a small smile.

"Alright, we're going to take you back now, Harry," Sheila says. "I'm going to have you sit in your wheelchair, and I'll take you to the room."

Harry nods, pushing himself up from the bed and into his wheelchair.

"I'll see you later, Hazza," I say before letting out a yawn.

Harry kisses my hand. "Nap babe. I'll be a while. I have to have a whole surgery."

"M'kay..." I lay back down and close my eyes. "You're gonna do just fine in there, H."

"I know, Lou. It's all going to be okay. Nice and easy. Kiss my pretty collarbone goodbye though. Gonna ruin the sparrows," Harry smiles weakly, trying to lighten the mood.

I open my eyes and get out of the bed. I lean down and kiss his lips softly, then, even though he was joking, place a kiss to his collarbone.

"You're so precious," I say softly.

Harry giggles and hugs me tightly. "Love you, Lou. See you on the other side."

I hug him back. "Love you too."

When I let go of him, I see Sheila looking at us with a smile.

"You guys are adorable, but we've got to go."

Harry smiles up at her. "Thank you, Sheila."

"Mhm," Sheila hums and gets behind Harry to push his wheelchair. Before she walks out she says to me, "He should be back in about an hour or two."

I nod and let her take Harry back.

When he's brought back out to his room, Harry is asleep in a hospital gown, an IV already dripping into his port.

Sheila smiles softly at me. "The surgery went really well. We already started his chemo cycle for the day. I wouldn't count on him being up much today. He'll probably be in and out of consciousness."
