Before her Mother was pregnant with Armin. She overheard her Mother talking with her Father about crafting a hot air balloon to explore outside the walls, and Mariele hoped they'd bring her with them. She's an introvert and gets overwhelmed if she's around people for too long, even if it's her family or closest friend.
