I laughed quietly as Lily dragged me up her front porch, talking excitedly about how much she's been looking forward to this. She opened the door, the great rattling against the wood as a warm peppermint smell filled my nose.

"Lily?" A deep voice asked from the kitchen and a tall, broad man came around the corner, a smaller, yet still tall, boy following. The man wore a bright pink sparkly apron around his torso.

"Dad!" She yelled happily and ran into his arms. I watched with a smile as he swayed them back and forth, greatly missing his daughter. I closed the door gently as they broke apart and he eyed me.

"Hey, Lils." Her brother, Forrest, said and pulled her into a hug.

"You must be Y/n." A female said and stepped aside her husband, her bright ginger hair matched Lily's almost exactly.

I nodded, "Yes, that would be me." I held out my hand to shake but she simply brushed it off and pulled me into a tight hug. She smelled like vanilla.

"In this house we hug, darling." She said, patting my back and pulling away.

"Petunia! Lily and her girlfriend are here!" Lily's mom called upstairs as her dad walked closer to me.

"You treat my daughter right?" He asked and Lily groaned as her brother snickered. Her mother walked up the stairs.

"Dad-"

I nodded, "I do, sir."

"I trust you more than them boys, but don't you hurt her. You hear me?"

"I understand, loud and clear."

It was silent for a moment before a smile broke out on his face and he pulled me into a hug. He was more gentle than his wife. Loud footsteps came down the stairs as arguing filled the air.

"I don't want to eat with Lily and her freak girlfriend." A voice said disgustingly. I awkwardly rubbed my arm.

"Petunia, you will behave and treat our guest with respect. It's Christmas, have some compassion." The two came into a view and I stood silently as Lily grabbed onto my hand.

"Nice to see you, Petunia." She said quietly and Petunia rolled her eyes, opting to just sit at the table.

"Don't be rude." Forrest said, walking to the table as the rest of us followed.

"Shut up." Petunia spat back and her mother sighed as the oven dinged.

"Ah, the turkey's ready!" Lily's dad exclaimed happily, running to the oven and carefully taking the bird out. My head cocked slightly, not used to people actually doing things and not just using magic.

"It looks delicious dad." Lily said with a smile and he smiled back. I noticed the worn look on his face, no doubt from the day full of cooking and dealing with his children.

"No, no, no, you can't do that! Thief!" I yelled defensively as Forrest tried to take extra money from the bank.

Forrest rolled his eyes dramatically, "I'm not stealing! I'm borrowing!"

"You can't do that!"

"How would you know?"

"I'm not that dumb!" I ignored his dads laughter as we argued and failed to notice the loving smile Lily was giving me, grateful that I fit right in with her family.

"You sure about that?" He yelled back and I reached for my pocket - note that I left my wand at home, wanting to spend an entire muggle Christmas - and pulled out the skewer I stole from the food.
