Y/N didn't know when she had fallen asleep. The sun was rising again and a full night had passed.
Have they noticed I'm gone yet? Oh no... does Megumi think I stood him up? Oh god...
Time was a blur for Y/N. She had no idea how long she spent laying on the bed without moving. She was either lost in her thoughts and worries, or was carefully listening to the world around her. The sun was high in the sky when she heard the front door slam shut.
The house was silent. No bottles or feet could be heard shuffling around. If she remembered correctly, it was sunday. Sunday meant her mother was likely grocery shopping.
Y/N moved for what felt like the first time in ages. Her arm was still sore, but she couldn't feel any serious damage. She opened the door silently and moved slowly through the entire house. After confirming that she was alone for the time being, Y/N began to think of a plan.
"The front door is locked... if I broke a window it would set off an alarm... they'd be here before I could get far enough away."
Y/N instinctively reached into the pocket of her dress for her phone.
"Shit..."
It must have fallen out when he grabbed me.
"What can I do, what can I do, what can I do."
She leaned on the kitchen counter and thought hard. Her eyes wandered as she filtered through possible options until they landed on the door to what used to be the spare bedroom.
"The old phones!"
Y/N nearly ran to the room and flung open the door. She went right to the old dresser that her mother used as a second closet for anything that she didn't know what to do with. As a child, Y/N remembered that when her electronics would break, her mom would take them and dump them in the old dresser.
She went through each drawer until she found the jackpot. In the back of the bottom dresser drawer were a few older phones and tablets. Y/N grabbed the newest looking model and snuck it back to her room, hiding it under her bed.
She cleaned up the spare room and made it back to her bedroom just in time for keys to jingle outside the front door. For a moment, Y/N didn't know if she would be able to hide the phone. Her fingers fumbled around with the old charger and barely plugged the phone in and re-hid it before her bedroom door was roughly shoved open.
"Alright kid, get to work."
It was the boyfriend again. Y/N had no idea why any man would willingly choose to be with her mother, but if this guy was willing to kidnap for her then he was clearly just as batshit crazy.
"To work?"
"Don't look at me like that," he wrinkled his nose at her indignant face, "Go clean the house."
"You kidnapped me... so I could be your personal maid?"
"That is your job for now," Y/N's mother walked up behind her boyfriend, "Once you prove you can be trusted, maybe we'll let you get a job and start bringing in money for us. Then you get to see the outdoors again! Doesn't that sound like a lovely deal?"
"Sounds terrible," Y/N replied through gritted teeth.
"You won't get anywhere with an attitude like that."
"Let me show you how this is going to work."
The man grabbed Y/N by the hair and pulled her out into the kitchen.
"You are going to start here, then go do the laundry, then go clean the bathroom."
"And what if I don't?" Y/N crossed her arms.
