'When will we be going to this 'Diagon Alley' Amelia glanced up at Hagrid as he led them through the crowd of people, each one having a maze of thoughts Lia had to attempt to ignore as her head began to ache.'Soon, don't worry' he allowed himself to smile as they came before a street packed with a substantial amount of busy shops. Thanks to Hagrids large bones, he effortlessly parted the crown unintentionally, all Lia and Harry had to do was stay close behind.
'This is it' Hagrid finally came to a stop after what felt like forever, 'the Leaky Cauldron. It's a famous place'
It was a tiny, grubby looking pub, Amelia's nose twitched at the sight of it, and she was more than sure that if Hagrid hadn't pointed it out to them she wouldn't have noticed it. The crowds rushing past them didn't seem to notice it either as their eyes skimmed over the record shop, and then to the large book shop at the opposite end of the street.
Before Amelia could ponder on the possibilities, Hagrid quickly steered them into the rundown building.
Amelia's eyes squinted as she was able to make out a couple of old women in the corner, drinking mini glasses of sherry, one of them smoking a long pipe. The low buzz of chatter ceased almost immediately as they entered the bar.
Hagrid seemed to come here often as people waved and smiled at him, the barman even went as far as reaching for a glass, smiling whilst saying, 'The usual, Hagrid?'
'Can't Tom, I'm on Hogwarts business' said Hagrid, clapping his great hand onto Harry's shoulder with enough force to make his knees buckle, he went to do the same to Amelia before lowering his hand quickly as he caught her sharp glare.
'Good Lord,' said the barman, peering at Harry and Amelia,'is this- can this be-?'
The Leaky Cauldron seemed to have gone completely silent, enough to hear a pin drop.
'Bless my soul' whispered the elderly man, 'Harry and A-Amelia Potter.. What an honour.' He hurried out from behind the bar, rushed to Harry and Amelia, before gripping their hands and shaking with tears in his eyes.
'Welcome back Mr and Mrs Potter, welcome back'
Harry didn't know what to say, and found himself glancing to Amelia for guidance, of course that wasn't much help. Considering she only wrinkled her nose, most likely skimming through their thoughts.
Everyone was looking at them. The old woman with the pipe was puffing on it without realising it had gone out. Hagrid was beaming from ear to ear. Then there was a great scraping of chairs and, next moment, Harry and Lia found themselves shaking hands with everyone in the Leaky Cauldron.
'Dorid Crockford, Potters, can't believe I'm meeting you at last.'
'So proud, Potters, I'm just so proud.'
'Always wanted to shake your hands - I'm all of a flutter.'
'Delighted, Mrs Potter, just can't tell you. Diggles the name, Dedalus Diggle.'
'I've seen you before!' Harry exclaimed at the same time Amelia questioned, 'We've met?'
'You bowed to us once in a shop'
'He remembers,' cried Dedalus Diggle, ' Did you hear that? He remembers me!'
They continued to shake hands of everyone who asked, in Amelia's opinion this was pathetic and a tad over the top, but she didn't dare voice her thoughts at the large smile plastered on her twins face. She'd suck it up. For him.
A pale young man made his way forward, very nervously.
One of his eyes was twitching.
'Professor Quirrell,' said Hagrid. 'Amelia, Harry, Professor Quirrell will be one of your teachers at Hogwarts'
