The next day at school, Montana stood at her locker, placing her things inside. If there's one thing she hated, was being back in high school. She wanted to return home and go back to med school, but she was coming to the conclusion she had a purpose here, and she just had to find out what that purpose was.
As the tall blonde finished putting things in her locker, Daniel walked up to her locker and greeted the blonde. "Morning Montana."
Montana turned around and warmly smiled at the boy, but her smile faded when she saw the injuries on his face. "Morning Daniel. How are you feeling, and how did it go yesterday?" she asked as she closed her locker. The blonde spent the day with Ali at Golf N' Stuff, and never had the chance to find out from him how the visit to the dojo went.
"Well, there's good news and bad news, which would you like first?" Daniel asked
Montana sighed as she clutched her books to her chest. "Well, I've never been a fan of bad news, and I don't think anyone is, so tell me the good news." she said
"Well, they're going to leave me alone." Daniel said
Montana smiled before she replied. "Hey, that's a relief, but what's the bad news?"
"Well, bad news is, I'm fighting in the all valley tournament." Daniel said
"The All Valley." Montana said, pretending not to know as they walked down the hall. "You know karate, but will it be enough to qualify for the All Valley?"
"Mr. Miyagi is going to teach me." Daniel said. "Would you like to join?"
"Keep the invitation open, a woman can always learn some self defense. Besides, I love Mr. Miyagi, and I have a feeling his teachings will be very unique." Montana smiled as she reached her first class of the day. "Anyway, this is me. I'll see you later, and I'm glad everything worked out okay, and that the Cobras are going to leave you alone."
"Me too. Bye." Daniel said

Later, Montana was seated in fourth period history next to Ali and the two blondes took notes, while Mr. Harris gave an - in her humble opinion - boring lecture on the Plains Indians, so much so, she almost fell asleep. It almost reminded her of the time she almost fell asleep in her pharmacology class at Boston University. How she missed it. Once the bell rang, the two girls gathered their things, and walked out of class together.
"Have you seen Daniel?" Ali asked as she and Montana walked down the hall
"Not since this morning." Montana said as she hugged her books to her chest. Looking up, she spotted him at his locker. "There he is. Go on."
Ali smiled brightly as she walked up to him, and tapped his shoulder. Montana stayed behind him and he turned around and saw Ali, and he smiled brightly.
