Audrey came to school the next day fatigued. In science class, one of her best friends was taking the notes down for an upcoming test while Audrey was staring at the smartboard blankly.
"That's it..." Audrey said to her best friend Jamie, "I'm officially sleep deprived."
"Well, you should've gone to bed earlier."
"Try being in a musical and staying at the school after hours!"
Jamie was taking a lot of notes during this presentation. Audrey was taking notes but only the ones her teacher tells the whole class not the ones on the side that mean nothing.
"Now class," Audrey's science teacher Ms.Preston said, "I'm giving you an assignment based on the Big Bang theory. Hopefully you've been taking notes because there will be a test this Friday. I'm passing this out now."
Audrey still stared blankly into space. Jamie was getting concerned for Audrey.
"Wow. You have a big case of sleep deprivation."
"I know! But what I don't know is what just happened."
"Ms.Preston is giving us an in-class assignment about the Big Bang theory."
"Ugh....kill me. Mary....Connor.....Bueller?"
"Oh stop. You'll be fine. I'll just slap you a million times."
Audrey slammed her head on the desk, exhausted from yesterday night.
"Dude! Pay attention! At least look like you're ready to go." Jamie said
Audrey sat up and forced a smile. Her teacher smiled and put the papers on Audrey's desk.
"Someone's ready to go today!" Ms.Preston said
"Yeah! And it isn't me.." Audrey said as she slammed her head again.
Jamie grabbed her paper and began the assignment. Audrey sat up and looked at the paper.
"I can finish this. Easy."
"Then do it, smarty-pants."
Audrey grabbed a pencil and filled out the questions with complete sentences.
"There!" Audrey said as she showed her paper to Jamie, "Suck it!"
"I'm impressed. Well done." Jamie said
"Then let me sleep!" Audrey said as she put her head down
Nothing else happened after that. She fell asleep until five minutes before the bell rang.
"Dude....pssst....wake up!" Jamie said as she shook Audrey
Audrey lifted her head slowly, "Huh...?"
"It's almost time to go. I turned in your assignment for you. Pack up your things for last period."
"It's last period?"
"Almost. Then the day is yours."
"Oh my god yes!"
Audrey packed up her stuff and fidgeted in her seat.
"Ring ring ring ring ring ring ring!" Audrey yelled
"Calm down. It'll ring eventually."
The bell rang seconds after and Audrey got up abruptly and walked to her last class.
"Theatre class, here I come!"
Audrey walked into the classroom and saw most of her friends hanging out. She walked up to her friend Mandy, who is the only other classmate who has the same burning passion for theatre as Audrey.
