~Audrey's POV~
After the tragic happening, it was the day of the show. I had missed school but luckily not on a rehearsal day. I had no homework but that was the least of my concern.
It was a grim day for me but for everyone else it was happiness. My classes were boring as ever and I all thought of was Michael. No one announced his T.O.D or even that he died. Everyone assumed he was absent.
It was last period, we were learning about binomials and trinomials. It was super boring and I wasn't paying attention.
"So how did Jason get 4x^2 plus sixteen?" My teacher asked
She rattled her sticks and picked out one. Surely enough...
"Audrey?"
I didn't answer.
"Audrey?"
I finally then shook my head and looked at the board.
"Uh...He squared 2x and 4." I answered
"Correct."
Can we leave now? I just want to get to the theatre room.
I took out my phone when the teacher wasn't looking and I checked the time.
"2:28. Dammit."
I solved a few more problems on my homework then checked again.
"2:32. Okay I'm going to pack up now."
I started packing my things and I set my backpack on the table. I set my phone on my desk and started playing on it. I grew bored. The Michael Jackson music my teacher was playing wasn't helping either.
Then the bell rang. I sprinted out the door and into the theatre room. My friend Zach saw me and called my name.
"Audrey!" He called
I went the other direction, speed walking to the room. He has a long stride so he caught up to me. He put his arm out indicating he wanted a hug. I ignored him and I went off to the room.
"Can I have a hug?" He asked following me
"Later." I replied running now
He ran after me but didn't dare to go inside the theatre room. I then looked at him with fury then walked deeper inside the room.
He looked back at me with fear in his eyes and then left. I walked into the dressing room. No one was there but my theatre teacher. Aida without Zoser was nothing at all. His understudy was always at rehearsals just in case something happened to him. I checked to see if he was there.
"Thomas?" I called
He walked out of the boys dressing room, without a shirt on.
"What's up, Audrey?" He asked
"You're going to be in this show, today." I told him
"No, I'm not. Michael's coming pretty soon. I wish though."
"No. You are and will. Michael's not coming back."
"What? Why?"
"I'll tell you later, but for now. Don't tell anyone this."
I walked over to the teachers room. She smiled at me.
"Hello, lead role. How are you today?"
"Uh, Ms.Harl. I have some bad news."
"What is it?"
"Michael Ryan......is dead."
She froze. She couldn't believe it was real. I told her everything about what happened.
