"My name is Aurelia."

The words reverberated through the minds of Antonia and Alice, weighing heavily upon their consciousness. It felt less like a greeting and more like a dark omen, casting a shadow over their thoughts.

Alice found herself immobilized, her legs betraying her, as if ensnared in an icy grip. Questions tumbled through her mind in a chaotic frenzy, vying for attention.

Her gaze shifted slowly towards Antonia, and she could see the same confusion and curiosity etched upon her face. The question that plagued them both was undeniable: Who were The Immortals?

The weight of anticipation lingered in the air, causing both women to flinch as Aurelia spoke once more. Her words carried a sense of authority, yet also held a subtle undertone of menace.

"Fear not, I pose no threat to you, as long you provide me with what I seek," Aurelia stated with an air of ominous certainty.

"Victor," Antonia murmured under her breath, a flicker of recognition in her eyes.

Aurelia's lips curled into a small, almost imperceptible smile, her inscrutable gaze never wavering.

"So, you do know of his whereabouts?" Aurelia inquired, her voice laced with a tinge of impatience.

Antonia raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "If you were able to find us, surely you can locate him on your own?"

Aurelia took two purposeful steps forward, closing the distance between them. Her eyes, once unreadable, now carried an unsettling darkness, and her expression twisted into a semblance of a sneer. "Our maker possesses a skill for concealing his tracks that surpasses your own."

"Our maker?" Antonia echoed, her confusion deepening. "What is the meaning of all this?"

An exasperated sigh escaped Aurelia's lips, her annoyance palpable. "I am part of a group known as The Immortals. We are the first five vampires ever created by Victor Black. Long ago, we parted ways on bitter terms, and now we seek to reunite with him. So, tell me, where can he be found?"

Antonia stared at the elder vampiress, her throat constricting with apprehension before she managed to respond, "I don't know. The last time I saw him was near the forest, just as he was about to kill this woman after murdering her partner."

Aurelia's gaze fell upon Alice, her voice laced with a gentle but unmistakably cold undertone. "I see. Well, my condolences. It must be truly arduous, losing your boyfriend in such a manner."

Alice clarified with a touch of irritation, "Oh, not my boyfriend. Partner, as in workmate, colleague."

Aurelia's eyes reflected a hint of resignation as she responded, "Then, I fail to comprehend the fuss surrounding this ordeal."

Alice briefly contemplated arguing, but swiftly closed her mouth, realizing the futility of engaging in a dispute with what appeared to be an ancient vampire.

Moreover, Antonia's watchful demeanor emitted a clear warning, dissuading Alice from any confrontational approach. She settled for an annoyed huff instead.

After a short pause, Antonia inquired, "How did you manage to track us down?"

"We were at Victor's residence, searching for something. Unfortunately, we found neither him nor any valuable information. As we returned to the streets, I spotted you carrying this woman. I immediately recognized you, Alice, from the photographs at the police station, once we discovered your involvement in investigating our creator. Hence, I followed you, hoping that one of you might possess knowledge of Victor's whereabouts."
