NETRA INGALGI

I sipped my coffee as I looked out the window feeling tensed. Anand Ingalgi a famous journalist from the 80's. My grandfather. I knew nothing about the man. My father ran away from home after his mother died. What I heard about him was nothing good. But today as I sat beside my father who was narrating the story that my grandfather dedicated his whole life too. The book that my crazy grandfather had said to be true I couldn't help but to think it was real. I listened carefully as my father narrated the story to Deepa Hedge. The famous journalist who was after the story that my grandfather wrote. My heart burned as I traced the pages of the book with the tip of my fingers feeling the letters written on the pages. I was snapped out of my trance when I heard someone call out my father's name. "Sir, your father wants to see your daughter," my grandfather was awake? I could sense the hesitation in my father's eyes so to reassure him I squeezed his hands in mine. "I will go see him Papa," I said and he sighed before nodding.

My heels clacked on the wooden floor as I walked to the room my grandfather rested in.I slightly opened the door stepping inside the room.I cleared my throat upon seeing the man who had his eyes open as he stared at me while lying down. "Hello,"I said awkwardly having no idea what to say to the man who I had no idea about until yesterday.I hadn't heard his name from my father's mouth and neither did I bother to ask. "I know that I did your father wrong," he spoke his voice coming out groggily.I clutched my coat tightly as I bowed my head down. "That I did your grandmother wrong," he spoke. "But my whole life was dedicated to the man that was the reason that me and my family lived until this day," he said. "If this man that you wrote about and you dedicated your entire life too was real where's the proof?"I asked. "His existence is no where in the history," I said and he chuckled before coughing. "You might think that history is the complete truth with no lie in it," "History that we are thought in the school is different from the reality," "The government will only teach the children the things that they want them to know," "Believe only the things that you saw with your own eyes and sometimes to find out the truth you have to chase after it," he said and I heard some beeping sound from the machine and I saw that the lines went entirely flat. I leaned down and my hand to his face as I closed his open eyes. I wasn't close to the man. I didn't know about his existence until yesterday so I couldn't find the tears to cry. I picked up my phone to call my father and tell him the news. The doctors came running in as I took a final look at the face of my grandfather. "Believe only the things that you saw with your own eyes and sometimes to find out the truth you have to chase after it," Ramika Sen was mentioned in the story. If the story was how it is said to be and if she found the need to ban a fictional story written by a crazed man then I don't think it's fictional.

"Papa I want the location that the search time was going to search in for the person named Rocky," "Beta you don't have to go behind this the team will handle it," he said calmly and I shook my head in refusal. "No Papa unless I do something about this I would have no peace for days," I said and he sighed. My Papa knew that if I set my mind on something I will do it no matter what the price is. "Suit yourself I will send you the location," he said and I smiled hugging him as he hugged me back. I walked out of the building my hands buried deep inside my pocket. I got inside the taxi and didn't wait a moment to start guiding the driver to the location.

Hours after I reached the location and when the driver refuses to drop me off at the correct location so I walk to the location alone. As I get closer to the location my eyes fall on a stone that had something engraved on it. I walked closer to the stone as my eyes widen seeing what was engraved on it. I didn't realize when a car rushed to me and hit me making me fly towards the rock as I hit my head on it. All I heard was some chattering as I lost my consciousness
