Real life
It was the next day and Julie had totally forgotten that Tom was in the room with her. It wasn't until her phone started ringing. She groaned slightly and started waking herself up, rubbing her eyes. She sat up in bed, still sleepy. She answered "Hello?" It was her music team. They were basically demanding a new album. She saw that Tom was still sleeping and got up from the bed and went out to the hallway. She leaned against the wall as she listened to them saying that if she didn't come up with an album they'd lose money and it'd be on her and she'd have to pay it out of pocket. They also told her she needed to pick between being a singer and acting. They were always rude to her and just didn't really care for her well-being and it showed when she was on tours. They wouldn't feed her and when she tried getting her own stuff they'd tell her she couldn't eat because she was supposed to be doing stuff like sound checks. They were very demanding and wanted a lot from her. She had been trying to leave them but she had signed contracts. Once the call was over she felt this overwhelming wave hit her. She heard the door to her room opening, it was Tom.
His face had a worried frown but when he spotted her it turned to a small smile of relief. He saw the look on her face and frowned "What's wrong? Did something happen?" He asked worriedly.
Julie sighed and looked down "yeah... sorry I didn't mean to wake you"
"You didn't don't worry... I was just worried I didn't see you in bed. Are you sure you're okay?"
Julie started feeling tears forming in her eyes. It wasn't that big of a deal but having to choose between careers when one was taking off more than the other was hard plus knowing the situation she'd be in with her tour managers once the album was out just sucked all the fun out of it.
Tom didn't even question it and pulled her into a hug. He was much taller than her so he leaned down and wrapped his arms around her as she broke down. He hated seeing her this way. He didn't know what to do. He kissed her head and rubbed her back "It's okay..." he whispered.
Despite feeling a slight sense of embarrassment, she found solace in the fact that it was him and not someone else. Gradually disengaging from the embrace, she gently wiped away her tears and released a soft sigh, uttering, "Sorry... I'm... I'm fine." She reassured
He frowned a bit and looked into her eyes, cupping her cheeks, keeping eye contact "I understand if you don't want to tell me... but just know you can trust me okay?" He rubbed her shoulder in a comforting way.
She looked up into his eyes, feeling her heart beating faster. She was going to share but now her thoughts trailed away from the problem. Her feelings were getting the best of her. "I trust you.. and I'll tell you let's just go back in the room" She said grabbing his hands and leading him inside with her.
Once they were back in the room she sat on the bed "It was just my music team... the manager is getting impatient on the new album.. saying im wasting their time and their money and I can easily pay them back it's just the stress and... they're making me pick between music and acting. I hate disappointing people and my fans- but I just... I've been stuck I don't know what to write about without making it all about my relationships and people have already been calling me out on it"
Tom listened to her intently and scoffed "They sound horrible... Im sorry Jules.. They shouldn't be making you pick plus other artist disappear for many more years that's what hypes the fans when they finally put something out. I don't know much about writing music but I could try to help?" He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. He just wanted to make things better for her.
Julie laughs a bit "We should just write a whole hunger games based album" She teases "Featuring Rachel of course" She was glad he was here, making her feel better and making her laugh
He chuckled and nodded "Exactly! See we already have a new album" he teased and sat next to her, resting his hand on her knee. "About the albums being about relationships.. don't even overthink it. There are so many artists out there who make hit songs about relationships. Just write about whatever you're feeling.. and what you want to be heard. You're so talented Julie I know you can do it"
Julie looked down at his hand as he spoke and then slowly started looking up at him, a smile growing on her face. How could he be so perfect? He's made her feel better about her singing career a lot more than her music team could ever. "Thank you" She whispered, tearing up. She really meant it and Tom could see that.
He hugged her again and rubbed her back, whispering small jokes to make her laugh. He liked the sound of her laugh. He didn't know why her team was so rude but he didn't like it. Why was he feeling this way? They were just friends. He always needed to remind himself but these moments made him remember why he liked her so much.
