If most things in life came normally to their family, he wouldn't be bothered but instead the universe was playing a terrible game on them and it was tricking them into believing things will always get better but in truth it wasn't. Except maybe it was as he stared down at his wrist, something he kept hidden under a bandage was a secret to only him. A bracelet which held different coloured gems that would glow when something was wrong or more in particular a type of light source was growing. When he was given the bracelet he was barely a tot by Splinter he never understood but all he was told was to wear it and keep it hidden even from the others. Not knowing why Raphael continued to do as he was told but he knew one thing, Splinter had lied about their mutagen story to the others. He hadn't told the truth, the potential truth that would kill them from the inside if any of the others ever found out. Why he knew, he didn’t understand but then again, he was the only one suffering from strange dreams which he thought were memories, they kept linking back to two brothers on some strange battlefield before he woke up.

"Raph? You up here?" April's soft tone snapped him out of his thoughts, he had taken a step away from the bathtub where his mate lay unconscious after a fierce battle in New York that led to his body being broken and his spirit weak. Yep, believe it or not he, Raphael, the hothead of the group, was partnered with Leonardo, the mr-got-a-stick-up his arse.

Sighing, Raphael turned from where he was sitting on the roof to see the red-head of their so called family watching him, she was actually older than him, but that information would be kept to himself.

"Hey April" he spoke in a depressed tone, his shoulders slumped as he gestured for her to take  a seat.

"Raph, what's wrong?" April came to sit by the hothead of their family, their protector who was on the roof again for the tenth time this week. April could only watch as the hothead fiddled with his bandages, she sensed something underneath but had never asked knowing the turtle in front of her was very private with good reason.

"Can you keep a secret?"

"Of course" April moved closer grasping Raphael's hand she was shocked when he didn’t pull back, normally he wouldn’t allow touch unless it was in a ‘moment’. Mikey described him as a cactus, soft on the inside, prickly on the outside.

"I mean it don't tell anyone not even Leo, if he wakes up"

"I won't and it's when he wakes up, Raph" her reminder only had him rolling his eyes. The past few weeks, he had been struggling to remain as positive as the rest of them, not that he could blame them, since they all believed Leo would wake up but then again, Raph just couldn’t see the positives, all he could see was the negative side.

With a sigh, Raphael turned to look at April, emerald eyes connected with ocean blue as words admitted from Raphael.

"I think I'm pregnant…" Raphael muttered, April froze, taking a few deep breaths in the silence, this was new information to her. She thought the turtles were all male but then again, surprises were part of her life now. Raph didn't mind the silence but he was going to hit something if she didn't speak sooner rather than later.

"May I?" April asked, her hand glowing. Raph could only nod as she placed a hand against his plastron and allowed it to glow. There she found a small pulse beating rapidly back at her.

"Oh my god, you are…I don't know how far along but Raph…oh god, shhh, I'm here…I won't tell anyone I swear" April immediately wrapped up Raph who actually sobbed out loud, April pulled him close ensuring him that she wasn't going anywhere and it was their little secret until he was ready to share. She even mentioned going to the shop and getting a pregnancy test for him just to check.
