Back in the lair…
A deep sigh escaped Leonardo’s vocal cords as he listened to the amount of individuals arguing in the lair while he listened out down the corridor for Raph, whom he had put to bed about two hours ago after he had fallen asleep in his mate’s lap.
“Any word?” Mikey’s voice had the older turtle looking across to his brother.
“No, April hasn’t reported anything in. We may have to look at this differently” Leo spoke softly, lifting an arm to allow Mikey to hug him. The youngest immediately cuddled close into his brother who rubbed his shell.
“I miss him”
“We’ll find them Mikey, we always do” Leo was in the midst of reassuring that he didn’t realise the fury in the eyes of his emerald eyed mate who stalked down the corridor towards the dojo where he shortly found Splinter meditating and speaking in low tones to the spirits.
Within the dojo…
“You may come in, we do not lurk in doorways”
Raph only concealed his expression as he moved silently into the dojo, his movements calm and collected as the door was shut for privacy.
“I am gathering this is not a public question?” Splinter spoke in his normal calm tone which had Raph sighing.
“No”
“Then ask away my son”
“I’m not your son” Raph barely made a sound as he uttered the words stuck on his chest.
“Speak up son, we do not speak in mumbles” Splinter strained to hear but that was testing his limit.
“I said, I am not your son” Raph’s more clearer tone had Splinter frowning.
“What do you mean, my son”
“Stop calling me that”
“Raphael, what’s going on son?” Splinter moved forward intending on placing a hand on his hothead’s shoulder when his hand was quickly snatched out of mid air and his wrist was snapped by a simple move. Splinter had no choice but to yank his hand away from a furious turtle. “Raphael! Explain yourself right now!” Splinter almost yelled.
“How about you do it Hamato Yoshi! In what universe is it good to set an ambush up not once but twice on your best friend's family, all because of a feeling of darkness?!” Raph snarled at the rat who froze, bad memories popped up in his vision.
“I have no idea what youre talking about?” Splinter simply turned his back on the red bandana turtle with his typical stance of his arms behind his back.
“Sure you don’t” Raph muttered as he took a deep breath, “How about we start from the point where you killed my mother before you kidnapped both Donatello and me?”
Splinter could only whip around and face a smug turtle, “I do not understand my son”.
“Of course you don’t, I’m sure if you did. You’d explain the experimental mutation that you accidentally spilled on us, to keep us quiet as soon as the foot were in New York?”. Raph knew one thing his words were getting to the rat who only blinked.
“Where are you going with this Raphael?” the confused tone, turned into one of sense.
“Where am I going, really Yoshi? Are you serious or did the mutation twist your brain cells” Raph exclaimed, his voice a bit louder than he would have liked as Splinter only nodded, making the youngster glare. “Well let me tell you or should I just tell Leonardo and Michelangelo of how much their father screwed up so out of fear he got an innocent woman killed while causing pain to his long-time best friend? Or maybe the fact that you tried to kill an innocent baby all because he had a different style to what you were used to? Or the fact that Tang Shen died for a reason which could have been avoided if you had just listened to Oroku Saki. Maybe Tang Shen would still be alive, instead you failed at protecting your three children, you failed at protecting Tang Shen. You Hamato Yoshi are a murder and will always be!”
