Chapter 13

Y/n's POV

"So, you're getting married in just two months?" Chan's voice lacked enthusiasm as he crossed his arms, leaning against the counter of his favorite coffee shop.

The afternoon air was chilly, prompting us to seek warmth in the nearby cafe. Despite our sweaters, I couldn't shake the worry that Chan was merely putting on a brave front in his casual attire.

"Isn't that cutting it a bit close?" I casually took a sip of my coffee.

"More like, you two skipped a few important steps," Chan muttered.

Suddenly, Sana slammed her hand on the table, causing our glasses to jolt. "My lord is getting married..." Her voice trailed off as she lowered her head, leaving us to wonder about her emotions. Then, she lifted her head, tears glistening in her eyes. "You have a bright future ahead of you!"

"What are you doing here?" I asked, my tone chilly.

"Come on," Sana leaned back in her chair. "I'm here to catch up on your life, not as your first lieutenant anymore."

Chan glanced between me and Sana, concern flickering in his eyes as he quietly sipped his drink.

"Invite me to your wedding, and let me lend a hand," Sana said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

I sighed, frustrated with Sana. I thought I had finally made her see reason yesterday. She wasn't necessary by my side anymore. Sana had so much potential beyond just following my orders like a slave. Even though I had set her free, she continued to do as she pleased, remaining loyal to me.

"She'll be here in a second," I mumbled, resigned to her persistence.

In the blink of an eye, Mina appeared at my side, swiping my coffee and playfully sipping from my straw as she perched herself on the table, catching Chan and Sana off guard.

"Hey there, I've finished shopping for clothes and stuff for our new house. We should head to the furniture store now," Mina chirped, her outfit black and accessorized with fashionable sunglasses. "Hmm, this coffee is delicious, just like you, richalicious."

"Your scent," I murmured, taking in her presence.

"Hmm, you noticed?" Mina smirked, sitting next to me and displaying the perfume. "I bought an entire set of different scents of these Florence perfumes, courtesy of your black card."

"What else did you buy?" I asked.

"I'll show you when we get home. Anyway, let's get out of here," Mina said, wrapping her arms around mine. Then, she suddenly noticed Chan and Sana. "Oh. I'm so sorry, I didn't realize you guys were having a meeting," Mina said, composing herself and adopting a formal demeanor.

"N-no... it's okay. We weren't that--" Chan began, but Mina cut him off.

"...without me," Mina interrupted, flashing a mischievous grin.

I gave her a sidelong glance. "Hold on, what did you just say?"

"I'm marrying an underboss, so technically I'm part of the Yakuza, right?" Mina leaned forward, her tone playful. "So, who are we killing?" she asked, a hint of excitement in her voice.
