Chapter 5: My guideness and friendship with Cherie

The next following day, I woke up and headed downstairs to eat some breakfast. Seeing Stephanie, I seat down and told her, "Hi dear, we have a new girl in our class and she is pretty smart. Her name is Cherie Rodriguez, so I decided to help her around the school. "Are you going to be her guide and be beside her? asked Stephanie. "Yes, I will. And show her how to cope with things and join my girls. I am sure that she will enjoy it." Walking towards the kitchen, my mother said, "That's a beautiful way to say it, dear."

My mother is making herself a cup of  coffee and a bread toast. She said, "I know that this new girl will fit perfectly in your group, I mean, you get along so well with them, she will be well-received." As I am finishing my breakfast, I hear a car hoot outside my door and when I went to check who it is, I didn't recognize it. And then I saw a face, it was Cherie. I got my bag, said my goodbyes to mom and Step, walked straight to the car. I put on my seatbelt, I said, "Hi Cherie, how are you doing and how did you know my address? 'That's because I live a few blocks away from you, my dear. I found it yesterday when you dropped by your boyfriend." "Wow, you don't say! Well, let me just send a message to my partner that I won't be here when he picks me up today because I was waiting on him instead. So, tell me about yourself, Cherie! Knowing from your surname, you have to be Spanish girl. Laughing to herself, she said, "Yes, I am from Spain so as my parents, we are from the north side. As for siblings, we are 5, three girls and two boys. My big sister is a fashion designer, the other one is a cooking celebrity chef and my older brothers is a lawyer and the other one is a tennis player. Yeah, we are family of different careers. For me, I am planning on becoming an profissional photographer. It's been my dream ever since I was little." Parking the car, we entering the school halls and continuing our conversation. Stopping by my locker, she continues, "How about you, Michaela, what is your dream? Well, I want to become a well known author and also tell amazing stories on it. That dream started when I was a little girl. Growing up, I loved books. So slowly, I am thinking of writing a book. Haven't figured out on a title, so that part I am still working on it." Listening closely to my story, Cherie gets distracted by someone passing by us, I follow her gaze and I could tell that she felt lovestruck. I laughed and snapped her out of it, by saying, "Now, I know that person very well, do you want me to get his name for you? Looking shocked, she faced me and said, "What? Ah no, no it's okay. It's just that he is very familiar. I have seen him quiet some time now. Really? Is he your neighbor from the other street? How do you know him that well? "He walks by, doing some exercise on the weekend's and also goes to the park and hang out with his friends. You can call me a stalker but I can't help it. It's just a surprise to see him attend this high school too. Let's go and get the books then, we have a class."

Going to her books, I could see my friends coming through. Bethany said, "Hi Michaela, I was looking all over for you. I am Bethany by the way, my dear, what's your name? 'I am Cherie Rodriguez, pleasure to meet you Bethany. Gabby came forward and said, "Hi Cherie, it's nice to meet you. I am Gabriela, mostly known as Gabby. Pleasure to meet you. Next, it's Daphne, saying, "Hi dear, nice to meet you, I am Daphne. And lastly, it's was Stephanie's turn, she saying, "Hi dear, my name is Stephanie, a pleasure to meet you."

After greeting everyone, we decided to go inside our register classroom and enter the room. As we are sitting down, I am sitting next to a boy colleague. He greeted me and said, "Hey, is your name Michaela Johnson, Queen of CHS? Answering the fellow colleague, I said, "Yes, it is I, what's your name! I kind of see you a lot nowadays and even funnier, I didn't know you attended this High school. "My name is Nathaniel, I am Mighty Warriors coach's nephew. In surprised mode, I said, "Wow, I didn't know that coach had any other family members expect of his wife and kids. Anyway, welcome aboard and I will make sure that you have a great first year in CHS. Giving him my hand to welcome him, he took it and said, "Thank you so much, Mel. I will make the effort out of it.

Going into break time, I told Cherie that she can hang out with me and the girls. So seating by our usual seats by the cafeteria, me and Daphne went to order and fetch our meals. As we are waiting, Daphne says, "I like this girl, Cherie, she has a great vibe towards us and the fact that she comes from the same country as you, you are practically sisters. Yeah, Daphne, you are right. "I like her too. We have a lot of things in common. Is it true that she has a crush on someone? Where did you hear or see that? No she doesn't have a crush on anyone or anything, okay. Even if she had one, she would have told us. Ugh, sorry for acting like that. That was unnecessary. My apologies. To answer it properly, no, she has no crush. Still new around here."

Receiving their meal trays from Michaela and Daphne, they take their seats and eat together.
