Chapter 4: The Plan

The next hours have passed by, trying and planning on how to talk to Mr. Brown Eyes, whose name is Michael K. Washington, short for Mike, and for now, nothing. The funny thing is that Melinda has been watching many teen high school films on how to get the boy that you like notice you, without getting caught, and all that. Therefore, if she wants to get this plan to work, she needs some backup and she knows whom to call. Still a Monday, at home, took a bath and changed her school uniform into home clothes, so at this moment, she is in her bedroom. She grabbed her phone and scrolled through her contacts, the only contact she had was her parents and her new friend contact, Daphne Graham. She pressed the number and the phone went on the dial, and quickly, Daphne answered the phone. "Hey, how are you?" she asked, and Melinda said, "Yes I am good, just want to ask you a favor, are you willing to help me" With an honest response, she said, "Of course I can, but let me guess, you want to know how to get closer to him, am I right?". With a shocked expression on Melinda's face, she answered, "Oh, how did you know?". With a surprised laugh, Daphne said, "Of course, I know, I could see it on your face". So at the end of the conversation, she just said that you do not have to put a note in his locker, and then he will come to you, just go simply to him and ask him whatever comes in your head, I am pretty sure that he will respond. The next morning, she woke up very motivated, proving herself today was the day she get to talk to him. After cleaning her bed and coming from the bathroom, she choose her outfit for the day, which was the school trousers with a cute blouse, with pumps and a jean jacket on top. When she was checking herself by the mirror, she loved it right away, so she took her computer-lab bag and herself downstairs, so she can eat breakfast. Greeted by her mother, brother, and her dad, they were all ready to start the next day strong. For her parents, they work as each other's business partners in the management area, in the economy and wellbeing of a community Congratulations to her parents!

A few moments later, it was time to go, so her father took Melinda and Lucas in his car, while her mother took her baby, into the backseat of her car. However, off they go one to the east and the other to the West.

The moment Melinda arrived at the school gates and by the doors, she could feel the determination and the electricity of nervousness vibrating all over her body, so to keep herself calm was to breathe and keep positive about what was going to happen. As she was getting closer to her locker, there was Mike, all simple and calm, so Melinda said to herself, it's now or never.

"Hey, good morning, Michael, how are you?", she asked. Turning around and stopping at what he was doing, Michael turned around with a smile, responding, "Good morning, I am good, and how about you?". Still lost by his smile, she said, "I am very good, thanks for asking. What I came here for, was to check if you were okay and not very hurt by the way I pumped myself into you with that force, and also, saying sorry for not seeing you". With a simple answer, he said, "Ah that, I am totally fine, and I accept your apologies. Just by the way, I distracted myself from that pump, the only thing I completely focused on, was the sight of your eyes. Adding on that, I like the color of your blouse." Melinda's reaction went from normal listening to super rose moment around her cheekbones, she just could not stop smiling, so she replied, "Wow, hmm, thanks for the compliment and I am glad that you are okay, so I will set books for my upcoming classes". So after that, she went to her locker, and took her diary to check the first period, which was English, Geography, and Biology. As Michael was studying her, he asked, "What are our first three periods?". Turning away from her diary, she answered, "Biology, English and Geography." Being relieved from her answer, he said, "Thanks.

A few moments later, the classmates were all by the register room, so that Miss Hill can make the record and see who was present today. The school bell ring rang, and Miss Hill dismissed them row by row and wished them a good day at their classes today. As they were walking to their classes, Daphne came up next to Melinda and asked her, "So how did it go? I want to know everything". "Alright, I will tell", said Melinda. So she started to tell Daphne every detail of what happened and how did he respond, and when she was finished, Daphne just said, "Wow, you nailed that, and on top of that, you are looking cute with that orange blouse, so there would be no doubt that he would not have compliment your blouse and your eyes. What a gentleman!" Thinking about, Daphne was right. For someone who was just accidentally bumped into, it was a turning point. In addition, on top of that, finding him super nice and open, maybe this can be something more, right? It will eventually come out naturally. This made Melinda very happy.
