A Random Girl in California

Chapter 27: Day 4 of the Game.

Every day is becoming hard and harder, with two teams still giving their best in every new match, and on this fourth day, they wanted to give something unexpected. For the Mighty Wolves, who are leading on 4-3 score line, they are determined to go further on their score line and win this match with a victory. For the other team, who have become a great fan of their achievement in the Mighty Wolves, they are also determined that the victory would become tough but also fun.

Man, another day, another great win for my team. To be honest, they are so tough but there is a lot respect and friendship between them. Just yesterday, I met Zack Hong,  a new friend on that team. He speaks very well English so I could understand him easily. He said that he was born and raised in a rural area, in the south side of the city of Tokyo. So right after the game, we exchanged numbers and introduced him to my other friends, like Kevin, Thompson, Steven and the others. When we were done, all of us went to the benches and say hi to my family and friends, they said, "Another fantastic game, my son. Just three more games left and your team will be announced the Winners! I can't wait!" said Papa Washington. "We shall just wait and see! We both are stubborn teams, Sir". Do not become optimistic. We might come with a big, difficult play that you guys have not seen before, said Zack. 

With my surprise, I answered him, by backing up Kevin, knowing that he wanted to say something, "Well then, my new buddy, we have new shelves stored for you guys, too. I shall say we are unstoppable. So adding on what my pops said, we are on a high standard. If it ends fair, with no hate and drama, then we can always to a rematch, on our street grounds!" Hearing oh's and yo's from the crowd, I felt an embrace from the back of me, knowing who it was already, it whispered, saying, "You really do know how to win. Even it means a challenge by your house, I like that kind of confidence in you, Mike!" said Michaela. Man, does she it do it well! Her whispering sounded so relaxing that I caught myself, in a rose moment. I held her still and then, I said to her, "That is why you are my girl 'cause you give me the extra boost in believing in myself. Thank you." Then Zack said, "Oh that's cute, it looks like the captain has a sweet side with his teddy bear. However, on the field, he is Mr Show-off. Ok, I am just joking around. Do not mind my sarcasm. It's a pleasure meeting you, ma'am. I have to say, such a cute couple you are. And for the challenge you recommended, Mike, I surely look forward to it. I accept your request." Saying their goodbyes, they shook hands.

I am so happy and excited because just in three days, the Wolves would be announced the Winners! So at this point, both of teams should be giving their all on court. I am determined that the Wolves will win because of their amazing performance on the basketball court. For me, with family and friends, are always there to support Mike until the final game. In addition, watching the game, I was getting to know Mike's brother, Jonathan, and I have to say, there are so alike, him and his other two brothers. From their looks, personality, laughter, talents, different achievements and visions. So we are having a selfie moment and small talks there and now, by the crowds.

Nowadays, my parents cannot stay here on the benches to watch the match because of work and my baby brother. So they just called me, on video call, saying, "Hey Michaela dear, it's your mother and I am just here to say that we miss you guys and that I hope you are safe and enjoying myself, watching the game together with your friends. Sorry if your father and I are not there to support Mike but you can tell him that we are proud of him and that he should win with a bang! Send him my love and hugs! Tell him we are rooting for the team and himself, Okay. Daniel and your father says hi. Alright, we talk later. Love you!" This conversation was a day ago.

"Hey Mel, welcome back! The girls just told me that the School would be having a grand party, for the victory on Wolves, on Saturday. Are you in? "I am not sure, in just two days, our exams will start." "Are you studying during the days while this side?" Yes, I am studying, Jonathan. I study short. It is supposed to be on a easy, calm day. I also think that the school should put one more week forward because of the party and the studies altogether. "Wow, you really a special one, dear girl. No wonder Mike is lucky. Not only for your appearance but also for your handwork on your studies and still the support on the court, wherever he plays. I am impressed by his choose. I wish I could get myself a young lady as well."

Looking a bit sad when he said that, I felt that sense of need. So I encouraged him, saying, "You know though, if I have not prayed to God on finding me someone to love, he would not have given me Mike. I think this one, I cannot say the same for him, I guess. I didn't know that I would make him, or anyone, happy and this energetic when it comes to being with someone. However, do you feel like that eventually turns into something, you feel me? I know I sound crazy, but I am saying this sincerely. I guess I am his little wish, 'cause I make him happy, about his matches, his friends and team players, his school and how people approach to him differently, like happy to see him."

Jonathan just looked at me, and he said, "All of what you just said, Mel, it's because you changed him."
