She sneezed once, and then twice before the pollen disappeared from her nose. The start of spring didn't just mean nice weather and sakuras for Akaashi Kazue, it also meant mild hay-fever. She hated it almost too much to enjoy spring and its pleasures. Rubbing her snot away with tissue, Kazue went on to stuff her school books and laptop into her bag before zipping it up aggressively, making sure that the books stayed in her bag.

Stomping out of her room, still mad at the coming of spring, Kazue entered the kitchen where her half-awake brother was drinking green tea. He looked up and nodded, "Morning."

Though it was still early in the morning, only five am, the siblings always woke up extra early before school because their body clock was just set up like this. Their parents, on the other hand, were not morning people so it was strange that the Akaashi siblings were.

"Stupid spring," Kazue muttered angrily without greeting her brother now. She threw her bag to the ground and slammed her hands on the kitchen table, wiping snot from her nose with the same tissue again. "Don't mind me if I get snot in our lunch..." Kazue drily joked.

Akaashi Keiji lifted an eyebrow, "I'd rather you not. But if you really have to then I will just eat the parts that don't have snot on it."

Kazue snorted. "Alright." Rolling up her sleeves, Kazue started to prepare their school lunch. She poured rice into the rice pot, cooked it and turned on the cooker as it started cooking. Moving on the side dishes, Kazue took out the marinated teriyaki chicken out of the fridge and then poured it on to a wok before she started cooking. Besides the chicken, Kazue heated up the leftover vegetable stir fry from last night before adding it to the three bento boxes on the kitchen bench. Later on, she put the chicken in as well as the rice. It wasn't one of her best meals but her mother had refused to get groceries last night after a long day of work.

Finally, she was done. "I'm going to finally bring this to lunch Bokuto today. You think he'll accept?"

"...Yeah."

Kazue narrowed her eyes at him. "Is that uncertainty I hear? You don't think he'll accept my beautiful lunch?"

"No," Keiji answered nonchalantly, "I think he'll take the lunch, but I don't think he'll have the response you want." Without Kazue ever telling him, Keiji already knew that his air-head of a sister was head over heels for the brilliant Bokuto, whom she showered praises upon whenever she could.

The lesson dragged on for ages until Kazue was sure that lunch would never come. Despite her negative thoughts of the maths scrawled everywhere in her notebook, the lunch bell finally rang and the teacher dismissed their class. Kazue jolted awake immediately when she said that and a bright smile plastered on her face.

"Be less obvious, Akaashi," the teacher rolled her eyes as she exited the classroom.

"Sorry," Kazue called out to her from her desk as she pulled out her bag, where the lunches she had prepared were stored. Her hands felt around for two bento boxes, stacked neatly above each other and then she froze. Kazue's eyes widened into saucers. There weren't just two lunches, but three. "Oh no. Keiji's going to go mad." Kazue knew that her brother went into silent-angry mode when he was hungry and without lunch.

Without a moment of hesitation, Kazue burst from her desk, carrying three bento boxes, and ran out of the classroom screaming. "OH SHIIIIIIIIIIT!!"

"Come on, Akaaaaaaaashi, show us a picture of your cute little sister!! I bet she's hotter than you and has a better personality than your constant seriousness," one of his teammates joked as he shook Keiji, begging him for a picture of little Akaashi.

"No," Keiji gave a short and sharp answer.

Another one of his teammates pouted at Keiji, doing his best to create a cute and pouty face so that Keiji would give in. "Pwetty pwease? I really want to see junior Akaashi...!"

"You're being so mean! Keeping little Akaashi all to yourself. I wanna see her!" Bokuto glared at Keiji, "Meanie!"

Keiji sighed and didn't answer. He knew that no matter how much he refused to let his teammates see his little sister, in reality, it was inevitable. It had only took a second for him to figure out that his objections would be useless. First, his bento box was missing, and actually with his little sister. Second, Bokuto was here.

Just as he was beginning to accept reality, the doors to the school gym burst open with a slam. A familiar couple of heavy breaths as well as his teammates' shocking gasp told him that his sister had entered the scene. Keiji looked up to meet his sister's reddening face.

Before Kazue could get a word in to her brother, the Fukurodani volleyball team charged towards the beauty of Lady Akaashi. Some fell to their knees in awe and some gaped at the sister of Keiji. Kazue blinked at them, slightly concerned as her heart beat faster and faster at the close proximity between her and the boys of the volleyball club. "Ah..." Kazue said uncertainly, "What?"

"BEAUTY!"

"A GODDESS!"

"I THINK I AM IN LOVE."

"So this is Akaashi's little sister," Bokuto grinned, ignoring the cries of his teammates. "Hey there. I'm Bokuto. The best volleyball player you will ever know."

Kazue's face matched the colour of a tomato and her lips quivered with embarrassment as she bowed and thrust the two bento boxes into Bokuto's hands. "Bokuto-san! Thank you! Please take this lunch I have prepared for you!" Kazue exclaimed, her heart thumping in her ears, "And my brother's lunch too."

Bokuto grin beamed brighter. "Oh yay! Thanks a bunch, little Akaashi!" At his heartfelt appreciation, Kazue looked up and straightened. "I'll go give this to your brother too."

Suddenly, Kazue instinctively reached out and pulled Bokuto's sleeve. The volleyball captain widened his eyes and stared at her. "Uh, Bokuto-san," Kazue stuttered, blushing harder. "Could I... make lunch for you again?"

Bokuto burst out laughing and then Kazue's heart shattered. Was he going to reject her? "Of course, little Akaashi! Thank you so much! I can't wait!" His smile radiated like sunlight in Kazue's eyes and she smiled, a wave of relief washing over her.

"Arigato!" Kazue had proudly taken her first step towards her relationship with Bokuto.

Somewhere behind the crowd of his teammates, Keiji gave a small smile. Although he didn't approve of this at all, Keiji liked to see his sister smile.
