The Scared

Clara breaks down in Jodie's embrace making them sit on the floor just outside of resus
Clara- "This is all d-dads fault I'm never gonna forgive him for this"
Jodie- "Hey, shhhh calm down okay. My dad is in there and he will get Cam through this I promise"

That's when the girls heard the dreaded noise nobody wants to hear, the flatlining.
Clara runs in there before Jodie could grab her.

Clara-"NOOOOOO, Uncle Max please do something"
He starts CPR on him and asks Clara to leave
Clara- "Not until I know he's alive"
Jodie- "Look come on let dad do his job, I'm just as scared as you are okay. He's my best mate"
Clara nods at Jodie's response and follows her out of resus as the team try and bring Cam back to life by shocking his heart.

Finally after the longest 10 minutes of her life they finally get his heart back beating again, and she breathes a sigh of relief.
Cam's parents were called a little while ago but they only just arrived. Clara stands up to introduce herself.

Clara- "H-hi, I'm Clara. Cam's girlfriend, I'm sorry about your son it's all my fault"
Mum- "Sweetheart you couldn't have predicted this okay, now calm down. As quiet and shy as Cam is he'll pull through okay"
Clara nodded. Max came out to speak to them.

Max- "We've managed to shock his heart back into a normal rhythm, he's not out of the woods yet but he is slowly but surely getting stabilised"
Clara ran at her Uncle Max to hug him. Max smiles
Clara- "Thank you Uncle Max"
Clara heads into resus with Cam's parents and Jodie for comfort and sits in the chair next to him holding his hand, whilst his parents sat the opposite to her.

Jodie ended up speaking to Cam's parents for quite a while, none of them realising Clara had fallen asleep holding Cam's hand.

Jodie- "She's barely slept the poor girl, she really cares about your son you know and would never dream for this to happen"
Cam's dad- "Her dad is clearly a bad man, I'm really hoping our boy pulls through for her sake"
Jodie- "Like I've said to Clara a bunch of times, I know he doesn't look strong but deep inside he definitely is"
Cam's mum nods.
Iain bursts in to resus seeing Clara asleep next to Cam.
Iain- "We need to get her out of here, dad's back and isn't happy let's just say"
Jodie stands up goes over to wake Clara.
Jodie- "Clara love, we need to go"
Clara stirs.
Clara-" I need to stay with Cam, I promised I wouldn't leave his side."
Jodie- "It's for your safety"
Clara looked up at Iain terrified the girl had already been through so much today, what more could possibly come her way?

Iain- "Clara he's back, I'm gonna do my absolute best to keep him away from you and Cam"
He makes sure security are guarding resus so that the doctors and nurses can still keep their eye on Cam safely.
Clara follows Iain to the staff room locks and barricades the door.
Clara- "What about Jodie? She was there earlier too, what if he gets her? I'm so scared Iain"
Iain pulls his youngest sister into a hug for comfort.
Iain- "Hey Clare Bear, we're gonna get you through this okay trust me!"
As soon as Iain finishes talking the pair heard banging on the door from their father, Clara covered her ears and closed her eyes so she sees nothing. But that's when they hear a loud gunshot, she buries her head into Iain chest and her breathing gets heavier.
Iain- Clara darling you need to calm down you're getting yourself into a right state and you're gonna make yourself ill"
That's when Clara passes out due to exhaustion.
Iain- "CAN I GET SOME HELP IN HERE PLEASE" He shouts as he unbarricades the door.
Stevie and Ryan come running in with a trolley and immediately barricades the door again so that the siblings dad couldn't get to them
Stevie- "Clara? Can you hear me?" She waits a couple seconds "No nothing, we need to get her to resus and on some medication"
Iain- "Stevie our dad has a gun out there he could shoot any one of us at anytime, I'm not risking that?"
Stevie- "Oh I mean she could just die on that bed right now if we don't administer some medication right now"
Iain- "Fine, but she needs protection at all times that's my sister her life has already been traumatising enough without all of this shit going on"
Stevie and Ryan could tell he was getting fired up, but they unbarricade the door and see the siblings father just outside.

Stevie- "Mr Dean, please just let us do our job to help your daughter if not she could die in minutes"

The siblings father then spots Jodie in quite a vulnerable state and grabs her into a neck hold, holding the gun at her temple.
Ryan becomes more alert when he spots the girl he loves (but she doesn't know it) in a headlock with the Dean siblings dad.

Max then puts the ED on lockdown no one is to enter or leave the building, not until he knows his daughter is safe.
Max- "LET HER GO NOW! You're already going to prison for a very long time, if you shoot her then you're going for even longer"
Mr Dean- "THAT KID IN THERE" pointing at the resus with Cam and Clara in "ALMOST HAD MY DAUGHTER KILLED"
Max- "You need to calm down for a start. I'm not being funny Steve killing someone else let alone your own niece isn't going to help anyone is it?"
Jodie is doing her best to get out of the headlock but every time she does, his grip gets tighter and tighter and she's starting to become pretty breathless.
Max can see his daughter struggling and is getting quite worried that if he so much is take another step towards her, that Steve will shoot her.
Max- "Steve please, she's losing oxygen by the minute and I hate to say it but if she goes unconscious right now then that's even longer locked away"
Steve- "I DONT CARE!"
Max- "Jodie hasn't done anything to Clara, if anything she's helped her so please just let her go"
He finally lets Jodie go who runs straight to her dad coughing and spluttering trying to get her breathing back to normal.
Ryan also walks over to the father and daughter looking quite worried about Jodie.
Ryan- "You okay yeah?" Jodie nods at him.
Jodie- "I'll be fine, you know me!" Ryan isn't so sure after that comment.

Steve tries to make a run for it but is met by the police who arrest him.

Ryan takes Jodie to cubicle to check her over

Ryan- "You gotta be careful Jodes! Stop getting yourself into these situations"
Jodie- "Ryan I'm absolutely fine, probably just a couple of bruises! My best friend and cousin are currently in resus, I think that should be everyone's priority right now not little old me I'm fine!"
Ryan- "Stop lying, this won't help Cam or Clara you know. It'll only make them worse"
Jodie starts to tear up a little.
Jodie- "Fine, I'm really scared Ryan. Back there I genuinely thought this is it, this is how I'm going with with the guy I fancy and my dad watching"
Ryan- "Hang on. You fancy me?"
Jodie blushes and nods
Ryan- "But hey, you need to stay strong for Cam and Clara"
He places a kiss on her forehead, as he does this he catches eyes with Max who just watches from afar but gives a smile and a nod.

Clara starts to come round. Everyone was just outside of resus dealing with the situation that just happened with Jodie.
She looks up at all the monitors she's hooked up to, then spots Cam on the opposite side of the room still unconscious by the looks of things.
She was terrified her dad had killed him, she sees everyone rushing about police and no sign of her brother or her best friend. She begins to sit up slowly when her Uncle Max walks through the doors.
Clara- "Where's Iain and Jodie? I thought they were with me?"
Max- "U-um I don't really know how to say this, but um Jodie was held at gunpoint by your father"
The colour drained from Clara's skin.
Clara- "This is all my fault if I had just stayed inside on the ward and not gone outside none of this would've fucking happened Uncle Max, I-I'm sorry if he hurt her"
Max puts a hand on her shoulder.
Max- "Don't you dare blame yourself now, none of this is your fault okay. Ryan is currently checking her over, she'll come out with just some heavy bruising on her neck I'm sure she'll be fine! You know Jodie anyway, hard as nails her"
She laughs at that comment.

Cam starts to come round from being unconscious for quite a while.
Max- "Cam, you're in resus at Holby City ED"
Cam doesn't say anything, just thinks back to the scene where he got beaten up.
Clara sits up in her bed so she could see Cam a little better.
Clara- "Cam I-I'm here I promise I won't leave you"
Cam- "Y-your dad? H-he's gone right?"
Clara nods
Clara- "He got arrested after holding Jodie at gunpoint apparently"
Cam- "Is she okay?"
Max- "Ryan's checking her over now, but like I told Clara I think she had a lucky escape with just some heavy bruising from holding her in a headlock"
Cam- "Poor Jodie"
Max- "How you feeling?"
Cam- "I-I don't want to t-talk about it"
Max- "You'll probably have to talk to the police tho when you're ready okay?"
Cam nodded as Max left the room.
