"She's gone." Taehyung breaths out as the realization hits him hard like a slap across the face. His hand on his phone clutches so tight that he wishes it exploded and burned him alive.
The one who just finished finalizing the makeup and outfit, Jisoo, is perplexed by his appearance in her room, that she shared with her bestfriend, Jennie.
Placing her lipstick on the counter, she looks at his reflection in the mirror. "What do you mean she's gone? I'm sure she's meeting someone important that's why she's late. Be patient. She won't-"
"I said she's gone!" Taehyung yells, cannot contain his calm demeanor any longer that the love of his life is gone. "Forgive me. But fuck! She didn't answer any of my calls! She's supposed to be here with you, preparing for the party but-damn it! Don't you see your bestfriend is missing since this morning? How can you be so unbothered?"
Now Jisoo is mad. She abruptly stands up to her feet and walks around the chair to face him. "Well excuse me for taking care of myself and not babysitting a grown ass woman who unluckily happened to be your girlfriend." She snaps.
Taehyung pushes his unkempt hair back and mumbles several curses under his breath. "Jisoo for fuck sake, Jennie is gone. Are you not worried? She-she left me. She left me because of my family. I know she would someday but she promised she won't. Oh fuck- what am I gonna do now? How could she?"
"Relax, Jennie ain't dumb. She loves you and will accompany you at the party-"
"Then where the hell is she now? Huh? I haven't seen her since last night and you- you are her bestfriend yet I don't see any concern in your eyes. Is this your plan? Are you two joking around at this situation? Answer me."
Jisoo does not like the way Taehyung is stepping so close to her with rage. Why would she even joke about this important event? She also has no idea where Jennie is. She, of course, noticed the absence of her friend last night and this morning but it's not unusual for Jennie to sneak out late night and go wherever she wants. Not to mention today is the big day for her. She has to go to the party that Taehyung's family holds which is not a simple party but to meet his parents and recieve their blessings.
And it is not that easy to have one, when they are The Kims.
"I'm not showing any worry because she is probably meeting someone important and it's taking time. I maybe her bestfriend but since you two are dating, we are not that close as we were before, remember?" Jisoo glares at him through her lashes. She then groans, it is not the good time to talk about the past and about her when they have to find Jennie as soon as possible.
Jisoo does not turn a blind eye to what Jennie has been ranting past days. Jennie hates how controlling Taehyung family is. Their family is all about tradition, etiquette, and heritage. They appear to be really constraining and organizing. They have rules to follow. They set high standards for whoever is bound to be apart of their family. They want to mold anyone into their lifestyle and change them into what is fitting for their family's image.
As Taehyung's girlfriend, Jennie had met them more than once but they were superficial and not official. But after hearing Taehyung's confession when his parents asked him about his love life, he confronted confidently and admitted Jennie should be the one he intended to settle for. His parents, didn't agree completely. They demanded to see her. They demanded to witness what kind of girl she was and considered changing her.
