“Have you ever been in love before?”

Jisoo pauses patting his shoulder and takes her hand back. “Isn't it like the second time you want to know my relationship status?”

Taehyung laughs at himself and looks away. “Is it? I'm sorry. It's just…you are a very nice person so whoever you're in love with is a lucky man.”

She can feel herself getting blushes on her high cheeks at his compliment. “Oh, there is no lucky man. I'm stuck with life problems to consider someone in my mind in a romantic way. I think that will continue till I make up with my brother.”

“I understand. I want to help you with Seokjin's case but it seems like I can't do that. He's quite stubborn.”

“Tae, it's okay. You don't have to do it either. At least he's doing fine and going to school regularly with that Detective.” She grimaces at the name as Mrs. Gu still refuses to tell her who that person is and assures her to not worry about Seokjin's wellbeing. “I hope I can meet him soon. I owe him a lot for keeping Seokjin safe.”

Taehyung clenches his jaw but his phone buzzes, causing him to excuse himself. The contact puts him on edge as his whole body tenses. Jisoo notices his sudden change of expression and is concerned about it. The person on the phone is definitely related to Jennie.

Leaving him to give him privacy, she takes a stroll around the backyard. The workers greet her with a big smile and waves as she walks past them. She is beginning to like living with the Kim Family. Everyone is jovial towards her.

Except that asshole.

The mansion is immeasurable to the point it leads her to nowhere. She looks around and spots a tent that looks to be a shelter and builds in a very solitary way. It piqued her interest.

She stands before the open door and peeks inside carefully. “Hello?”

With a light step, she curiously enters the tent, her eyes scanning the inside that is a bit dim despite the bright sunlight outside. There is no window for light to shine through.

‘What kind of creepy place is it?’ She mutters to herself but abruptly jerks and yelps when a hand grabs her from the dark and throws her onto the floor in a snap.

Her eyes widen as she watches the man hovering above her, fear he is going to harm her. She twists her hands that are pinned down on the floor each side of her head. “Ump!”

She locks eyes with the asshole that she is just talking about.

Jeon Jungkook.

Him again?!

“What the fuck are you doing here?” He says angrily, realizes that it is her.

She narrows her eyes at him and spits back. “Why are you pinning me down like this?”

His forehead scrunches as he shuts his eyes tight before letting her hands go. He stands up on his feet and gives her a hand. She smacks it and gets up by herself.

“Thought you're an intruder.” He mumbles, glancing around to make sure no one else is here.

“Intruder? This is your tent?” She frowns, squeezing her hands together.

“Yes, little thief. Now answer me why are you here?”

“Don't tell me you…live here?”

He stares at her before snickering. “Me? Jeon Jungkook? In this dirty tent? Of course not. This is just my…” he stops himself from answering her. “It's a give and take thing, little thief. I answer your question and you answer mine. It is only fair that way, isn't it?”

She rolls her eyes at his childishness. “I was just walking around and saw this individual tent so I got curious. That's all.”

“Are you sure?” His lips curve up, eyes darting over her body up and down.

She covers her body immediately. “You weirdo. Don't look at me like that!”

“Like what?”

“Unbelievable.” She huffs and turns around to leave but what he says next stops her.

“Seokjin is a nice kid.”

Her head twirls around quickly at the mention of her brother. “What did you just say?”

“What did I just say?” He acts dumb and looks around as if there is another person beside them in this tent. “Ah, it's a compliment to your brother.”

“Did you stalk my brother even though I told you to stay away?” She marches to him. “How low can you go? Don't you know what ‘no’ means? I want you to fuck off. Don't ever act cocky with me and disrespect me again. Got it?”

“I have to disappoint you with this one, little thief—”

She raises her hand and slaps him across the face. “I said don't call like that.”

His face does not move an inch at her forceful slap which angers her more. His jaw flexes as he pokes his inner cheek with his tongue. “That's not very demure of you, little thief.”

She can't believe her own self at his perverseness. She slapped him and told him to fuck off yet he still behaves as cheeky as he always is.

Rubbing the cheek she has slapped, Jungkook leans down, whispering. “Aren't you curious about the Detective your brother is living with?”

She tilts her head with a cold gaze. “Why are you doing this? I am your brother's fiancée. Soon you will be calling me Sister-in-law—”

“Ah…” he laughs. “That is the funny part. You are not in love with him, little thief.”

Gooseflesh responds to him as she clenches her teeth. “I am in love with him. That's why I'm marrying—”

“Nah.” He cuts her off casually. “You can't convince me like that. I know my dear brother. He isn't someone to jump from the girl he swore to marry to bring a new girl inside the house. You think you can lie to my face? Little thief, little thief, you underestimate me. And it's more painful than the slap you gave.”

“If you think we are lying, why don't you tell it to everyone?” She tries her best to not fall for his trick. There is no way he is exposing them when he has been staying quiet for a whole month.

“That's a good question.” He nods with a serious mien. “Why might that be?”

“Because no one would believe you.” She says through gritted teeth.

He casts a silence glare at her before chuckling. “I'm afraid that you are right. After all, I'm my father's son, the son who means nothing to the family and just to watch after like a fucking dog. But that's not important.”

She can discern how much he is mistreated by the family and kind of feels bad towards him. But that doesn't mean he isn't rude to her and does not respect her.

“I planned to not care about whatever Mr. Saint Taehyung was doing since it's not my business but…” he looks at her.

She feels the intensity of his eyes and takes a step back.

“I'm sorry, little thief. I've got no choice.”

She doesn't know why his words are confusing to follow but what she can detect is that he will not keep his mouth shut.

Jisoo also notices that Taehyung's mother is not fond of her although she treats her like a daughter and smiles. The woman acts nice and kind in front of her family but when no one else is watching, she throws blatant glares at her as if she wants her gone.

If Jungkook reveals their secret to her, then Taehyung will be in trouble.

“What do you want?” She asks with a sigh.

Jungkook smiles.
