      Just as a recap, this whole thing between me and Mine is not really what I would call a good start to a long-time relationship. Being a rookie to this whole thing, Mine would frequently make fun of me and have this look of disappointment when she sees me. It doesn't help that she has a big head and thinks very highly of herself.

"It would help for you to know that I am a badass sniper genius."

      Yep, so she doesn't seem to like me all that much and she has an ego. I miss judged her though. She does have a caring soul in her. It was a bit hard to get it out of her, but she had one. One that showed when I was training, she had asked me,

"You must really want to get hurt out there..."

"Not at all.....Just want to fight.....Fight with my life....."

      But I accidentally walked in on her changing one time, which she got mad at me for and nearly killed me with her imperial arms. Naturally, putting a giant hole in the wall of the base and ruining some my hair. Yeah, destined to be great teammates and even better friends. Today, instead of arguing or going out on a mission, we just enjoyed some lunch all to ourselves. Mine still had her broken arm while I decided to stay there and assist her if she needed it.

"I can hold the spoon for you if you want."

"I don't need you to baby me (M/n)...."

      She picked up the spoon with soup on it but she winced slightly, lowering it down as I just grab the spoon for her.

"..............Thanks....."

"No problem........."

"Have you already finished yours?"

"Yeah.....Just here to help you if you need it....."

"Why didn't Akame stay behind?"

"Because I heard it would be a tough mission today......I'm sure they will come back just fine Mine...."

"I agree......(M/n).......What do you plan to do when this is all over?"

"Me? I haven't really thought about that yet."

An answer had not come to mind for me, at least not right now. Mine had already told me what she wanted to do once this whole thing was over, she wanted to give back to those who weren't as strong as her, plus she wanted to grow old with lots of money as she laughed in my face. Regardless, I was just too focused on the present to focus on the future. Mine would reinforce the question and then ask me,

"Have you thought about anything?"

"Just when I get back to my village......Hoping they're still there when I get back......."

"That village must mean a lot to you....."

"Of course......It's the place I was born.......My home......Aside from this new home obviously...."

"What about your parents?"

"My parents?........They uh aren't here anymore.....Didn't really get to know them all that well......"

"Can't change the past......All we can do is look forward...."

"I know....But the past still comes back to bite us....Every time......"

"(M/n)........Do you ever think you would change your mind on this?"

"Change my mind on what?"

"Even though it's not an easy thing to do....We try to kill as many bad people as possible for a better future. I knew it would not be an easy decision for any of us....But we chose this....All of us.....Would you have changed your mind?"

"No........I wouldn't have changed my mind on this.....I don't want other young ones to have the same past as me."

"I understand it....."

"Hey at least tell me that you will finish up the rest of this soup, otherwise I will gladly finish it for you...."

      Mine groaned at me before I spoon fed her the rest of her soup.

      Indeed, Mine was a bit of a handful to work with and be around sometimes, but I had started to enjoy her company and would want to continue being around her. Such as today, where she now stood looking out the cliff side at the sunset. I had come up to her and asked,

"You like looking at this view?"

"It's a beautiful view.....One of my favorite parts of any day......"

"One of the few things I agree with you about..."

"(M/n).......Could I admit something to you?"

"Yeah.....What is it?"

"Ever since you joined Night Raid.....I've just had this feeling in me for a while.......One that I wish to share with you....."

Mine's face had turned many different shades of red, I couldn't tell if it was out of anger or embarrassment.

And that's how I fell in love with Mine, indeed with loved each other, even if our chemistry was about as fluid as oil and water.
