The next morning was silent.

Really, silent.

Charles had left early in the morning to leave so I didn't even have a chance to apologise. Even though I thought he should apologise but Alistair didn't want to hear it. That night I got nothing so you could imagine how hungry I was.

I felt so weak that it was like I was sleepwalking into the dining room where Alistair and the weather decided to be contrast forms of me by being invigorating and bright. I felt like asking Alistair to stop ruining my morning by smiling but then again it was my fault.

"Morning, princess."

"Morning, Daddy," I said tediously.

"What's got you in a bad mood?" He asked. I gave him a self-explanatory look before taking a bite of the bread. "At least, I've news this morning."

"I doubt that will make me better," I mumbled.

"Oh, it will." He said. "You know that exam you took?"

"Yes."

"Well, you failed it."

"So I don't have to go werewolf school?" I asked. He hummed a response. "Yay!"

"Hold on a second, dear." He said while collecting a cache of letters for him. "Thank you, Gillian." Gillian bowed.

"I do suggest you open the letter from him." He sighed deeply before neatly opening the envelope. His eyes ran along the page, reading everything. "Well, that's not good."

"What is it, Daddy?" I asked, deliberately sugarcoating the question with the mere use of his favourite word. He now had no reason not to answer.

"Nothing really, princess. We'll just be having a guest over in a few days. Why don't you quickly finish up and then we go play with your toys?"

Or so I thought.

He pinched the bridge of his nose. I smiled at the word 'play' specifically. Charles never let Alistair play with me so this should be something to look forward to.

"Alpha, would you like me to start ordering preparations?" Gillian asked.

"Yes, please. Can you also pass those documents I was telling you about to Richard? I need them organised before he gets here."

"Okay, Alpha." He paused for a moment as if he was scared to say what he was going to say next. "As much as you will be busy these past few days. I was thinking that you could maybe pass your work on to the beta. He has already offered." He said before adding in a high-pitched tone. "I mean, if that is okay with you."Alister looked at me.

"Yes, now that I think about it can you get that tea from China, that he likes to the pack house and find our best chauffeur to escort him here."

"Is that all?" He nodded in satisfaction.

"Come on, Daddy!" I hollered. "You said we are going to play."

Alistair emptied a whole bunch of dog toys on the floor. I frowned with my arms folded.

"Daddy, I thought we were going to play with real toys." I moaned.

"We are, these are just werewolf toys." He said. I quirked an eyebrow. "Most puppies don't play with them but our guest is very old school."

"So why do I have to play with them?"

"Because... because our guest will want to play with you." He said with an awkward smile.

"I don't care. I'll just tell him I don't play with dog toys."
