A/N: A short cute drabble
----------------------------
The Water Spirit
The sun was beating down on Jungkook when he walked along the trail, happy when trees gave him shade a few minutes later. Some droplets of sweat were running down his temple, and he reached to the side bag on his backpack, taking his water bottle out. It felt almost empty, and he still had some way ahead of him up the mountain. He knew he needed to refill it, or he wouldn't reach his goal.
Jungkook took the old map out, locating his position on the mountainside. He saw the trail he was on and the water fountain further up the mountain for hikers, but he located a creek close by where he could refill it now. It was forbidden to leave the trail, but it was just a short trip into the woods.
Jungkook looked at his watch. It wasn't even noon and he thought he could allow himself to make the short trip to the creek.
He took the last sip of the water and tucked the bottle and map away. With one last look at the trail, he stepped into the forest and the cool shade of the trees.
Jungkook took a deep breath, soaking the earthy scent into his lungs the further he walked into the woods. Under the trees, it was surprisingly cooler and he felt more relaxed. It didn't take him long until he found the creek and he sat down next to it.
The water ran merrily down the stream and Jungkook listened to it. It calmed him, taking the tension away he had felt all week. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, feeling himself relax.
Jungkook jerked when he felt an impact and wetness on his face, and he opened his eyes in surprise. He wiped his face and looked at his palm. Jungkook seriously feared he had been pooped on by a bird, but he was relieved when his palm was just sullied with clear liquid. He sniffed at his palm, making sure he wasn't peed on, but couldn't make out any smell.
Was it water? How was it splashed in his face? Who was there?
Jungkook stood up and scanned his surroundings carefully. Another water attack hit him, soaking his butt, and he whirled around.
"Who is there?" He asked, demandingly. "Show yourself!"
Jungkook got into a fighting stance, trying to remember his long-ago acquired taekwondo skills.
A cackle sounded close by, turning into a gurgling sound.
Jungkook took a careful step closer to the creek, peering into the stream.
His eyes bugged out when brown shining eyes blinked at him under the surface. Jungkook yelled in surprise and fell back on his ass, his knees giving out under him.
Another laugh sounded, clear and inviting.
"Did I scare you so easily, human?"
Jungkook feels his forehead. Did he have a sunstroke? Did he have hallucinations? But his skin was cool and he didn't feel nauseous.
"Who is there?" He asks, forcing his voice to sound strong and steady.
"Come closer."
Jungkook peers around again. "Where?" He asks and chides himself. Was he crazy?
"Come to the stream, let me see you," the voice says, it sounds smooth and inviting, not at all like the high laugh from before.
"I'm not sure...," Jungkook says. "Will you splash me again?"
A short nice laugh sounds. "I promise I won't."
Jungkook takes a step forward, and bends his torso slightly to the water stream, peering down.
