Jungkook selects a cart and enters the supermarket. It was late in the evening and another stressful day at work lay behind him. It was Friday night and he finally had several days off. He wanted to indulge in sleeping in, cook something delicious, and just hang around. But he had to clean the apartment as well, it was long overdue, and he hoped Taehyung would come over after his night shift.
His phone buzzes in his pocket and he grins when he sees the picture of his smiling boyfriend on the screen. The vibrant blue hair still fascinated Jungkook, and he fell in love with him yet again.
"Jeon," he answers the call professionally, keeping the happiness out of his voice.
"What the hell, Jeon? Really? This is how you are greeting me?" Taehyung complains and Jungkook can imagine his pouty and sulky face.
Jungkook can hardly suppress a snicker. "Oh, my eternal love," he whispers pompously. "I am so happy to hear your enchanting voice. I have missed you dearly."
There is a second of silence and Jungkook can imagine Taehyung's face yet again, how his sulky pout turns into a pleased one.
"That's much better. Why didn't you say so on the first try?" he complains.
"Mmh," Jungkook hums. "I want to keep you on your water spirit toes."
"Lovely," Taehyung returns with sarcasm. "Where are you?" he asks, and it seems like he is walking outside.
"I wanted to do some grocery shopping," Jungkook replies and stops to lean on the cart.
"Are you in the market close to the hospital?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"I'm coming to you."
Jungkook can feel himself smiling but also in surprise. "I thought you had another night shift?"
"Believe it or not," Taehyung says, his voice dripping with sarcasm again, "...but there was a mix-up in the schedule. Imagine my shock."
"Oh, what a surprise."
"Yeah, I know."
"So now, I also have the weekend off and am back on the same schedule as you."
Jungkook feels suddenly giddy. "That is perfect."
"I know," sounds behind him and he turns.
Taehyung stands there, a bit windswept, his cheeks slightly pink and grinning. "Hello stranger," he says and walks forward.
And it was somehow true. The last week had sucked ass with their contrary working schedules, and they hadn't seen each other a lot, just a quick make-out session in the break room.
Jungkook had missed Taehyung because text messaging only just didn't do it.
Taehyung steps close and kisses Jungkook's smiling lips quickly. Jungkook didn't care that they were in the supermarket. There weren't many customers around them anyway.
"Hello babe," he answers. "Care to join me?"
Taehyung grins at him. "Let's get it!"
Together they walk along the aisle and load the cart. Jungkook realizes Taehyung is placing things in the cart as well.
"Do you need to do grocery shopping as well?"
"No," Taehyung denies. "It's all yours."
Jungkook looks at the items in the cart. There were a few only Taehyung liked.
"Mmh," he hums. "I think I don't like these soft cookies," he says and takes the package to place it back on the shelf.
Taehyung grabs his wrist and leads Jungkook's hand, which is holding the cookies, back into the cart, shaking it a bit to let go.
