Hope's POV

It was Friday night and I was invited to a big party at this girl Clorissa's house. I hate her guts, but she said I could come and let's face it, I'm a party girl. I looovvee a good party, especially when there are actually cute guys. I tried to invite Alexa, but she said she had this important matter to take care of with her friend from Deptford. And I know all the other gals had other plans so I'm going by myself. I know it's a stupid idea, going alone, but hey, I can't miss a good party.

I walked in the huge, I might add, huge house, no, mansion. It was... AWESOME! The music was blaring, people were dancing, there was a mini bar in the kitchen. It was like the party of the century. There was a guy, a cute, correction, HOT one, who was sitting at the bar alone. Naturally, I would shrug it off and have a good time but he seemed like he had no idea who anyone was. So, letting my nice side kick into gear, I walked over to start a conversation with him.

"Hi." I said.

"Hi."

"Watcha doin here alone?"

"I don't know, my friend told me about this party so I wanted to check it out for myself. Not fun without her here."

"Oh really? Well, I'm fun and obviously a girl, so wanna hang?"

"Sure, wait I don't think I caught your name."

"No, not really, my name's Hope."

"Jason, nice to meet you."

"Same here." I sat down next to him cause my feet started killing me. "So, who's this mystery friend of yours who's a girl?"

"I don't know if you know her, her names Alexa. Alexa Rodriguez."

"Wait, you know Alexa?"

"Yeah, you know her?"

"She's like my best friend since 1st grade."

"Wow, small world huh?"

"Yeah, you could say that. So, how do you know her?"

"Let's just say we're best friends and leave it at that."

"Why?"

"She didn't tell you? Wow she must have wanted to forget real bad."

"Tell me what?" Ok, now I'm getting worried. What happened to my best friend?

Jason's POV

Wow, I wonder why Alexa kept her being in a gang a secret. Was she ashamed? Did she just want to forget?

"Oh, um, ok, but if I tell you you can't freak out and confront Alexa, ok?"

"Fine, whatever, now tell me."

"Well, sorry to break it to you but, in 9th grade Alexa joined my gang."

"Gang, as in gang of friends, or gang as in..."

"Yep." I swear she looked like an owl with how big her eyes got. Priceless.

"Why? Why wouldn't she tell me?"

"I have no idea. Frankly, I think she forgot."

"HOW COULD SHE FORGET SUCH A BIG SECRET!?!?" Ok now this girl was starting to scare me.

"I don't know, like I can read her mind."

"Sorry to yell its just... wow, a gang, a god damn gang. How?"

"Long story short its because of her... ex."

"Wha.....?"

"Hey, I think you should hear the rest from Alexa."

"Fine, lets change the subject. Sound good?"

"Yeah."

We talked for the rest of the party and I really enjoyed myself. It feels nicer to talk to Hope than it is to talk to Alexa, and that's saying something. She just gets me on a different level. Now my cheeks hurt from smiling so much. And that's another thing, it takes a lot to make me smile.

A little while later the party started to end, so me and Hope split. Instead of going home, we just drove to Martins Lake. It's right across from Alexa's house and there is no doubt in my mind she's not spying. We just talked in the gazebo for a while.

It was 2:00 in the morning when Hope decided to crash at Alexa's house. Let me tell you, it was probably a night I will never forget.

Heeeeyyy thought I change it up. Yeah I know it's short, so don't hate cause, I promise the next one will be longer.
