The Whispers

Chapter 7

Skylar opened her eyes and looked around. Tristan was shaking her wildly. "Are you OK?", he cried. He looked around the room wildly and stopped on the picture of the thing. Skylar told him, "I'm fine. Really. You don't have to worry about me." Tristan stopped and shakily asked, "Would you like me to walk you home? Your family must be worried about where you are." Skylar got up from the floor and walked downstairs, Tristan feeling the back of her head for bumps or bleeding.

When they got to the door, Tristan asked her if she REALLY was ok, and he didn't need to take her to the hospital or something. Skylar told him that she would be all right and walked out the door. Suddenly a small girl popped out of the bushes. She walked unsteadily toward Skylar. The girl opened her mouth as if she was about to say something, but she suddenly fell to the ground!

Skylar rushed to the girl's side instantly. "Are you ok!? Please wake up! Are you all right? Do you need help!?", she asked the unconscious but steadily breathing girl. Tristan had heard her shout in alarm and had rushed outside to join her. After feeling the girl's pulse and listening to her breathing, he concluded that the girl was not hurt, just very exhausted.

Since Tristan didn't have a place for the girl to sleep, Skylar told him that she would take the girl to her house since they had a guest room.

The girl opened one eye slightly as the child carried her to their house. She breathed a deep sigh of happiness and relief. Soon, the child would take her place.
