Skylar awoke with a start. She was crying for real this time. Had she been in a cave? Why was she crying? Who was that girl in her dreams? The doorknob to her room turned and she stiffened. The tall, lank figure of... Maria walked into her room. Skylar threw herself into her sister's lavender scented arms and wept. Maria's eyes grew wide as she hugged her little sister.
She almost screamed, "What's wrong, little sis!? Are you ok?" Skylar, snotty nose and teary eyes, answered, "T-there was a c-cave full of kids and they were a-all dead and... and..." Maria, who was now crying as well, hugged her little sister tightly. Skylar wiped the tears from her eyes and asked to go downstairs. Maria told her she could, if she changed into her clothes.
Soon after, Skylar came downstairs fully dressed. She slowly walked outside without eating breakfast. Almost instantly, she ran into Tristan. He was wheezing again, and those orange eyes seemed to glow. "H-Hey.", he stuttered. She glared at him reproachfully. He started again. "I-I'm really sorry for not telling you what happened. Can you ever forgive me?"
Skylar thought for a moment, then sighed, "All right, I forgive you." Tristan grew so happy, Skylar thought that he would explode from the smile that was threatening to split his face open. He hugged her and spun her around until Skylar thought she would puke. Finally, he stopped spinning her and almost screamed, "I have something really important to show you! Come to my house and I'll let you see!"
Skylar stopped. Something was wrong. Tristan wasn't this happy when she first met him. Whatever it was, he was on cloud nine about it. She asked him slowly, "Is it dangerous??" He responded with only a smile.
