My Spark❤️‍🔥 (LMK)

Prologue

You ran as fast as you could until you had to pause to catch your breath. Your breather, however, turned into a coughing fit because of all the incredible heat.

A gurgling and a few pops sounded behind you. You turned around and saw the danger inching  closer. "Scrap!" You muttered before taking off down the winding tunnel, again.

'How did I get in this mess again?' you thought as you ran.

--{FLASHBACK}--

"HEY, Y/N!" Your friend, F/n, shouted as they burst through the door. You jumped at their sudden volume and appearance.

"F/Y! PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF-  DON'T DO THAT!" You scolded them. "Sorry?" They shrugged. You sighed, "It's fine, I guess. Now, what do you want?" You asked them.

"Oh, yeah! Guess what!" Your friends eyes gleamed with excitement. "What?" You asked hesitantly. When ever their eyes gleamed like that, it often meant they had some kind of high risk activity planned. By "high risk" you mean from the craziest life threatening ones to the simple diminishing pride ones.

"I found a cave on our mountain! We can explore it!" They stated. "Great. I think I'll stay here and enjoy my life while you go get crushed by a cave in." You responded sarcastically.

They rolled their eyes. "Come on, pleeeeaaaaaassssssseeeeee!" They begged. You sighed.

-time skip-

"Hey, Y/n! They got you too?" F/n(2) asked you. You nodded, "Yep." "Come on. Don't sound so glum, chums!" F/n spoke, "We're just exploring!"
F/n(2) chuckled, while you sighed.

So the you and your friends hiked along the path that led to the cave. Once there, the three of you grabbed your flashlights, turned the flashlights on, and wandered deeper into the cave.

"With how far back this seems to be going, I think it's more of a tunnel." F/n(2) said. "Ooooo~! A tunnel~! Even better!" F/n stated excitedly. "Or is it?" F/n(2) added in a teasing tone.

You and F/n groaned, "Not another Chima reference!" "What?!" F/n(2) asked, acting innocent. "You know what, let's change the topic! This tunnel seems to be going deeper! Let's use one flashlight at a time to save power! Yeah?" You changed the topic.

Your friends glanced at each other, nodding in agreement. "Great!" Unfortunately, without one of you designated as the one with the lit light, you all turned yours off. "Ahh!" "Wow! This is dark!" "One of us needs a flashlight on!" "Wait. There's a light over there!" Where?!" "There!" "Where? Oh! I see it!" "I only see black! Oh, wait! I see it!" "Let's investigate!" "Okay, fine. Let's all head towards that light."

Slowly, the three of you stumbled towards the light. When you all reached it, it was something warm glowing through a wall. All three of you turned on your flashlights and observed the rock wall. "It looked thin in the dark, but now it looks solid." F/n(2) observed. F/n gently tapped her knuckles against the wall and hummed in agreement.

Crack! Some of the wall cracked, and some hot, orange, liquid substance started spilling out and on to the ground. The three of you stared at the ground, then at each other. All of your eyes were wide as you all realized what it was and what it meant. The wall cracked more, and more of the substance flowed out, just a little faster than before.

The three of you slowly backed away. The wall cracked more. A moment of silence and anticipation. The wall broke! The three of you bolted! The lava flowed swiftly after you! The three of you raced away until F/n tripped on a rock and stumbled into a thin wall that, on impact, turned into a tunnel.

A few large rocks fell at the new tunnels entrance, preventing them from continuing along the main path. "F/n!" F/n(2) screamed. You paused and looked at the scene. "I'll be fine! Just keep running! I'll find another way out!" You could hear F/n call out.

"Be safe." Was all you managed to saw without breaking down in sobs. You and your remaining friend then continued to run. Not far off from that, is when you tripped and fell onto the ground with a hard thud that knocked the wind out of you. "Y/n! Come on! We need to get going!" F/n(2) called to you.

You slowly lifted yourself up, but paused. The ground started to crack. "Oh floof." You mumbled, then you screamed as you fell down a hole. "Y/n!" You heard your friend cry. "I'm alright! Go! Get to safety! Then find help!" You told your friend. You heard their footsteps echo as they ran further away.

You slowly and carefully stood up, then ran. You heard some of the lava fall down the hole and ran faster.

--{END OF FLASHBACK}--

"Oh, yeah!" You mumbled as you ran. You quickly turned another corner then stopped. In front of you, was a sheer drop. A cliff. You heard the gurgling and popping of the liquid fire as it came closer. You were cornered by death, so it seemed.

You peered over the edge of the cliff and saw a river of water below. Maybe you could make it. You glanced back at the lava then back at the river. You chose the river, and jumped. The fall was long and you started to observe your surroundings.

The mountain was now more obviously a volcano. And you had made it outside, as the soft blue sky indicated. You could see pieces of a fortress not far from you. Splash! You hit the water! Unprepared for the impact, the wind was knocked out of you, again, and it took you a moment of drifting in the water to understand what happened.

You slowly swam to the surface of the river for air. But your progress was too slow! Your vision grew dim, and the last of your breath escaped your lips. Your consciousness, slipped into a dark void. Your hearing was the last to go as you heard splashing and panting and a voice. But that was all.
