Chapter 20-Mina and Soohyun's Backstory

Aria: How about you go next mina? Mina: Oh, O-Okay yea I can go. Well uhm as you know my name is Chibana Mina. Well, that isn't necessarily my full name.. Soohyun: Huh? Mina: Yea.. Well uhm I-I'm actually adopted. All: *gasps* woah.. Mina: Haha yea. I do know that my main name is correct but Chibana is definitely not my real name. It's my adopted parents' names. My parents weren't stable enough to take care of me. So uhm they ended up leaving me at someone's doorstep when I was about 4 years old and they told me to stay there and that I absolutely could not follow them.. Haise: That's horrible.. Mina: Yea haha.. It is. The only thing I really remember is them always calling me Mina so when my now adopted parents opened the door to a young child telling them their parents left them there I just told them to call me Mina like my birth parents called me. I don't know my family name so they just gave me theirs and officially adopted me. I'm so thankful they did.. Some people wouldn't be as generous as them I know that. Aria: That's sadly true.. Haise: Woah.. we appreciate you telling us. I know that it's a lot to let out. Mina: and you too. And well for the rest of you that don't know I actually met Haise in Junior High when I moved to this district. I was generally picked on for being new and at that time pretty oblivious to what I was supposed to do since I wasn't used to the new place yet. Haise asked to be my friend and said I was really cool so we've been friends ever since haha. Aria: Aww, that's really sweet. Shouta: It is. So Soohyun what about you? What's your story?

Soohyun: O-Oh me? Well m-my name is Lee Soohyun. I moved here from Seoul, South Korea and now I live here near Osaka, Japan. I learned English as I grew up a little but I never had anyone to really communicate with. Of course there was a few people who were fluent but I was no where near that level. I moved here and luckily for me had an entire category of classes specifically for learning English. And everyone here speaks it seeing as its required for you guys now. Japanese is pretty much just used in places where there aren't a lot of English speakers. Most people just speak either English, Spanish, or Mandarin in the world today. The other languages are definitely dying down. Aria: I agree. My parents were always incredibly strict though. I was the only boy in the house besides my dad, with 2 sisters who were treated like gold while I got used to everyone else's dirty work. I had to be smart, handsome, successful, rich. I could go on. I just want to enjoy life. When I found out I had powers my mother and father made us hide it forever. I don't even know theirs. I only know that my oldest sister had fire only because she showed me in private once where they couldn't see. To them it was practically a sin to show our powers. So I wanted to get out and go find other people with powers. My father made us move to Japan for a job opportunity for him. I went here and then you all showed me your powers and your plans to join the League, and its like my world got so much bigger. I want to be powerful and I want to use my powers for the greater of the world to prove to them I don't need them to be successful. That's my story. 

Shouta: Woah.. man, that was really heartwarming honestly. I really admire you standing up to that. Haise: If its anyone I think Soo deserves to be in that league more than any of us. Mina: I agree. Soohyun: N-No you guys need to get there too and Haise you have your brother to make proud. Mina, your birth parents. Aria and Shouta..you need to make each other proud. Mina: Well, I say its all or nothing. Shouta: I agree. Soohyun: B-But.. Haise: No But's. Its all of us or none of us getting in that league. Are you in? Soohyun: I-I... I suppose I'm in.. Haise: Great. It's getting late so we should head home. We study and train for the next 3 weeks. Deal? All: Deal.
